SBE Record falls

We went out with WhiteltOne's Camaro yesterday at the Midwest Chassis track rental and had some good success..

And some good pictures...

SBE 6.0 with Legend Racing camshaft.

I still have a really hard time understanding how a SBE 6.0 goes 5.41 in the 1/8th on just 11 PSI. I've seen TT 427s that couldn't do that.

Derrick kelly went 5.23 back to back this weekend on a stock bottom end 5.3, stock 799s, stock intake, pump gas

Think theyre planning on going out again this year and turning it up a little...lol

Congrats on the times, cars running times like that with stock parts are impressive as hell

There are two simple responses to this:

1. Raceweight.
2. Ability to make the car work the way it should.

We originally went 5.41 with 11psi when we first put the combo together early last year, 60'd much better then.. We have struggled with this combo all year, too much SLR was a big problem we had. It would either go real fast, or kill the tires.
Then a bad set of springs out back.

Yesterday we didn't even try to make it leave harder, or 330 or 1/8th harder, we just kept trying to make a clean run.. And we did, 2 in a row.

Car is on methanol.

^^ We saw your car, looked real good man. When they prepped at the end of the day, Andy and you, and Carlos and other guys came out first.
Nick and I wanted to watch, so we waited and came in at the back of the line..

Still a far cry from those guys with the mustang that has been 4.80's with a sbe 5.3. Just saying. He was at 2965 for comparison.

Thanks for the compliments guys. the car has been battling us all year its just starting to come around. Shawns car has been very fast to the 1/8th no doubt. i look forward to working on hitting it harder the front half of the track.
