I bought a shortblock from them about 2 years ago, and can't say enough good about them! From their prices to customer service...is simply awesome IMO!

They seem to have great feedback. I am now looking into using one of their 5.3L setups for my turbo application. I was originally contemplating buying an all forged rotating assembly and building up my existing LS1 engine. After comparing prices, buying a assembled shortblock from Thompson seems to be a little more feasible for me.

I too have a 416ls3 from Kyle @ Thompson, and have a F1A feeding it a few pounds of boost as well. The motor idles and drives perfectly.

I would call Kyle and talk to him about your plans, and work with him to help get you there.

Thompson is not far from my house. They don't make their own cranks and rods. The heads stud kit I drove there to get was a set of Pro-Comps repackaged with their name on it with a packet of ARP thread lube. NOT ARP studs. I know this because I have a set of both and they are an identical match to the ProComp studs. Went to get some LS1 head gaskets also. Charged more than the Chevy dealer and when I got em home they were LS9 gaskets, not LS1. They were as good a deal as anyone for my HP Tuners and I was able to drive there, pick it up, and carry it home. That's my experience.

I personally think there's nothing wrong with the ProComp stud sets, but they should disclose what the parts really are.

They just built me one of their stage 3 5.3s, I'm hoping to receive it monday so I can't give any real experience just yet. Other than they have awesome customer service, answered any questions I had quickly. Oh and don't worry about their internals they use all callies (atleast on mine they did) I asked..specifically. I'll give another review here soon once installed but their on their game I can promise you that
