Default Issues

I'm wondering, a few guys on here are running 600, 700, and 800 horsepower. John Meaney runs over 1000 hp on the street everyday... What is keeping us from doing this? Can the block handle it? Do we need his Big Stuff 3? Maybe I'm the only one who thinks of these things but he's running 400ci and twin 52 mm turbos. Some LS1 guys can't make that with 60+mm turbos. I'm not downplaying anyone, Lord knows I'd love any kind of turbo system under my hood, I was just wondering why no one has done this. Oh yeah, and I'm by no means an expert so feel free to make me feel stupid...

I think we know it was over 1000, more like 1200+ last time a read... but thats not with 4 head bolts per cylinder and not a restrictive intake design of the LS1. Of course I'm w. PSJ, 427 is the best one to address this. John likes to run from a roll for obvious traction issues... as for power to the ground...what was it ...high 10's at 160 on street tires?
I simply want that sleeper.

I recall hearing that Meaney went over 150mph at the Stanton once but that's all I remember. I think it's a 406ci SBC but I don't have the article handy. It's would have to be like 7:1 to be over 1000rwhp on pump gas.

Meaney runs a solid roller everyday. I've never driven or seen in person a solid roller (I'm only 18) and I was surprised that Meaney did this because I've heard there are drivability issues associated with SR cams. All I know is he's got one hell of a car.
