Default Help with Turbo 5.3L Build

So i'm planning on building a street-able 800hp turbo 5.3L. As of now i'm looking at getting a stock LM7, FAST 92mm intake and throttle body with most likely a Garrett 45R and LJMS Turbo Cam (stage2/3). Still not sure what fuel system to run (injectors, fuel rails, etc) or if 317 heads are needed.

Im doing the same thing, 600-700whp

I went w 317s on my 5.3 cause that's what I had laying around but it drops the CR down to 8.5:1 which is very low, if I was doing Big Single id def switch over to a set of 241s or 241s and ditch the 317s

Im not to worried tho cause im going w 2 small turbos that should spool quick regardless

Ok cool. What about using the stock heads? Maybe port and polish them?

... Just run what you have and don't overcomplicate it. You can hit 800 HP on a stock truck intake and a baby cam.

I wouldnt spend the money on the FAST Intake for a boosted application for your HP level. A stock LS6 intake can be had for cheaper and will do the job well enough unless you are OCD about getting every last drop of HP out of your setup.

I have seen a few guys in your power range using the

Ok. I'll probably go with the ls6 intake or maybe even the stock one. What injectors and fuel system should I use for my goal?

on my 6.0, untouched 317 heads, stock ls6 intake, 232/240 cam, 8psi on 76mm turbo, and 60lb injectors at 70% duty cycle, single bosch 044 pump and aftermarket rails, I made 608whp. i'd say 80's would get you to 800 safely

Stock 5.3, 10:1 or so compression, small 218/218 cam that idles fairly well, stock heads, stock truck intake and throttle body, 80 lb injectors, 75mm turbo, heavy *** 4L80e, I made 700 wheel on pump gas.

Ok. I'll just stick with a stock 5.3 until it blows then. Lol
I just want to be able to make 800+ I'll drive it at like 500-600.

Odd half my thread post got lost.

^If you can find an 05+ 5.3 it will will have the stronger rod design and timing chain design. Some 04's got them but its hard finding the exact production date when they switched.

FIC makes some killer injectors for $700 which are 1000cc. These can take your E85 ssetup or pump gas setup to the power goals you want. Ebay fuel rails (

80 lb dekas are half the price of FIC 1000s and are good for 1000 flywheel on gas...

At what PSI? I was offering a larger size just to accommodate any use of E85 and also lower base pressure. Not to say I havent seen 80 lbs. Dekas used at over 100% duty without many noted issues.
