Looks like shes moving real good! Nice work!

Not a fan of the engine cover... looks too out of place... needs sides to wrap around the intake slightly. Get a peice of thin aluminum or ABS and bend it... the black will look a whole lot better and that shiny SS.

For the hood flat, gloss or carbon fiber will look good on a black gloss car. I will tell you with my experience with wrap is the complex curves of the cowl will be a nightmare unless you know what your going. Also go with the new 4D or 5D carbon fiber vinyl as it looks more like real carbon fiber with a gloss coat.

Here is something I made from sheet metal and some aluminum, painted and then wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl. I would have kept it but now it doesn’t clear the stock hood (ran it with a 4” cowl).

So I found a local company that specializes in liquid wraps aka plasti dip and got the hood sprayed in Halo EFX covert black for $100.00. Can't beat that price and I think it turned out good.

after

Looks good! I’ve used plastidip a lot and it holds pretty well. I’m a big fan of doing it in plastidip and the painting real clear spray enamel over it. The real spray can clear makes the gloss coat a lot stronger compared to the gloss plasti dip and you can still peel it off. A satin clear would make the hood last a lot longer if your interested.

So I finished up my winter refresh of this project. I ended up using a 65k mile 5.3 LM7 2005 shortblock that I traded a bad 6.0 shortblock for.

862 Heads w BTR .660 duals, btr pushrods, ls6 head gaskets 34.00 off summit, arp head bolts 110.00 off amazon
Sloppy stage 2 from jegs that I got for 180.00 on the ebay sale
Melling m295 oil pump off amazon warehouse for 48.00
rings gapped .028 top .030 bottom
LS7 lifters and trays from summit, 140.00
set of tri metal clevite rod bearings 18.00 off amazon
improve racing oil pan gasket 24.00 off summit
new o ring for pickup tube holley pan 302 2 p/n 12557752

I am hoping to turn the boost up and tune it for around 18-20lbs on the street w 93 pump and water/meth

Wow, this is a great build! I love that you are constantly improving it too. How do you like the new turbo vs. the old one? Build boost faster?

I'm going to be doing a similar build with a turbo log and I'm curious what are your experiences with the crossover pipe? It looks pretty low in the car. Since mine is lowerered ~2" I only have about 5.5" of total ground clearance and am concerned it will be an annoyance. Thoughts?

I can’t get my fist under my 4” exhaust. Never an issue and I drive it everywhere.
