Default Boost Ramp Vs Tune

If motor was dyno tuned on WG spring only and say scaled for 20psi of boost.

Does it matter how fast you bring in boost after words as long as you stay within the parameters of the tune? IE, use EBC to ramp up boost as fast as turbo will make it, staying under the WG spring amount though.

Prob no where near as complicated as I am making but, always come back to diesel thinking of less torque below saves rods.

Your fueling is going to change depending on were you bring in the boost.

Shouldnt matter if its tuned properly. Any decent tune will run aby boost level below the max its tuned for

If you tune your car with a 5 sec boost ramp vs none than your table is absolutely going to look different. Pick a ramp you like and go from there.

Of course if you bring too much torque in, too early, you can bend the rods...

These Toyota rods come to mind,

How much torque do you suppose they will take, is your job to know or find out

If it has been tuned correctly then there will be no issue.

Ideally it should be checked and tuned in all conditions the car will actually see in terms of boost and boost ramps. But it'd take an idiot to have cells slightly outside these ranges so far wrong to actually cause any harm. ( so of course harm is possible as some people do the strangest things )

Obviously if you were previously tuned to w/g pressure only, do not try and run the engine at higher boost than this without checking/tuning to ensure all is safe as you go..

An unlocked auto protects it's self for the most part. As TQ comes in you rpm will always rise since the stall speed is rising with the TQ application

Say like my car, Na is stalls 3100... 20lbs stall is around 5800rpm

There is no way my engine could ever see the TQ yield of 20lbs below 5800rpm

A manual or a locked converter, you can def do some crazy stuff in a bad way

I have the 'verter lock up, but not sure what gears its allowed to lock up in at WOT. I will have to talk to my tuner on that one.

Arguably this is all semantics, its a 76gts on a 383ci motor so it spools fast regardless of EBC helping.
