Default Maximum boost on pump gas L96

Just finishing up the single 76mm turbo airboat build. Heading to get tuned next week!! On 91 octane with a charge air cooler and tc78 turbo with 9.5 compression where is normally the cut off for boost due to detonation. Trying to find a safe boost level yet get the most out of it. Deka 80lb injectors, stock 2010 L96 with cam, valve springs, and pushrods. Thanks guys!!

Exactly, boost pressure doesn't mean anything in comparison to actual cylinder pressure.

I've had customers make well over 1000rwhp on 93 octane + meth and easily make 800rwhp or more on straight 93 octane with no meth and live a long and happy life. Granted these were built forged rotator engines and not stock bottom end engines. In terms of absolute longevity with a stock bottom end engine, keeping them at or under 700rwhp seems to be the ticket. Others have luck pushing them past this point, but in all reality they're a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

All comes down to the tune...

Depends on timing, IAT, fuel, etc. Too many variables. There isn't an answer to the "I have X motor with X done to it, how much boost will it take, how much HP will it make". Tune it, dyno it, optimize your tune for your driving/activities and then you will have your answer. If it grenades, then you went too far.

Fair enough, near impossible to dyno a airboat unless pulling the engine

I would have ditched that MAF lol

Use an engine dyno, don't always have to use a chassis dyno for dialing it in.
