Huh I’ve burnt one up with poor shifter alignment as well. Made sure it had a slip fit on every detent with this one. I’m sure it wasn’t that. Sounds like It could have been alot of things that were user error. Which makes me think the seller will weasel out of paying to fix it... Understandable I guess. If I were the seller I wouldn't trust that the buyer installed it correctly either.

The last rebuilder used the incorrect width snap ring on the intermediate something or other. Anyway, it was put together wrong and broke the lugs off the case and tore up the pump.
Seller agreed to pay for half the repairs and supply a new TH400 case. So it is costing my roughly $250 to repair. Should be done sometime this week.

Threw the trans back in and got it tagged finally. Cruised it to work friday and swung by the local dump. 3000 on the nose with a full 15 gal OEM tank. Thats including 195lb driver.
It's on the laggy side but surprisingly quick on 5lbs. Little dissapointed PTC didn't nail the converter. I asked for 4k stall on a mild cam only 4.8. I'm barely flashing to 3400 behind a cammed 5.3. 1lb by 3800 and 5lbs by 4200ish. If the converter would stall to 4k NA I'd be set I think.
Running 56% ethanol pump gas mix. Ambient temps were in the 99-100 range. IAT's 125+ at the start of a pull and 185ish by the end of the pull. Coolant sits around 190.Trans temps cruise at 125-130 and peaked at 160.
Need to get the water/meth kit built and crank it up a bit. Shooting for 15lbs or so.
With the slow spooling turbos I am liking the current 3.73 gear and 27" tire combo. Might leave it if I can't get these suckers to light off quicker. Cruising 65 AT 3200ISH.

Happy First Father's Day! I'm sure by now you realized nothing will ever be the same, lol. In the best way!
And thanks for taking the time to post all you do, good and bad. You have terrific ingenuity and resolve. And aren't afraid to say "this didn't work", then move on.
Now back to the regularly scheduled build.

Thanks!
Went ahead and installed the $9 300A breaker on the ground side. Makes for a nice quick disconnect/anti-theft setup. Still have the 300A fuse inline on the positive side.
Installation worked out pretty slick. Used a brass (maybe copper?) L-bracket I had in the junk bin and bolted it right to the battery.

Yup! I don’t have time to go back and rehost all the images now. Stinks! The other hosting companies need to make some sort of auto APP to relink all the images and transfer them to another site. I’d pay for that service!
Moving along with the mustang…
Took it out to a grudge night. Super crowded and only got 2 runs. Hit fuel cut around the 1/8th both times. Couldn’t figure it out. Reviewed the logs later and found that my ethanol content was dripping from 70% to 30% and was pulling a ton of fuel form the tune activating the AFR safety IGN cut.
I installed the ethanol sensor on the surge tank return since I read it wasn’t supposed to be on the pressure side. When I started using fuel faster than I could fill the surge tank, the E85 sensor no longer had fuel running through it. So the ethanol reading dropped. Rolling into it slowly on the street I didn’t have that issue.
So I moved the ethanol sensor to the surge tank supply which should be relatively low pressure. It seems ok now.
Setup a water meth injection kit from mostly left over parts.
I bought the 2.5 gallon tank ($36) and the SSR relay ($16) used to PWM the pump. Still need to clean up wiring and install the panel on the aft trunk to hide it all. But it works pretty well.
The pump is an 8000 series Shurflo (150psi) I had laying around. Believe I used it to spray weeds at one point. I actually threaded the supplied brass fittings with an 1/8th NPT tap so I could use the push to connect fittings. Turned out great.
SSR relay
Instead of paying $30+ for the filters on the alky injection sites I found a 6-pack of 1/8 NPT filters with SS screens for $25 shipped. So If anyone needs one of these let me know.
SSR relay works great. I start the pump at 20% duty cycle and 100kpa and ramp up to 100% duty by 6000rpm and 150kpa. I don’t feel it kick on at all.
Mounted the nozzles on each of the air filters. Used a 90* 1/8 NPT fitting instead of the $35 nozzle holders. Drilled a small hole and pushed a punch through it so it left more meat for the tap. I had the nozzles left over from other builds. They were only 4gph nozzles. So I drilled them out to 7’s to start. Spraying washer fluid for now.
Used JB quick weld to keep the nozzles in place. (probably didn’t need it) I can remove the aft side of the nozzle and drill the nozzles openings larger when I up the boost.

Thanks for posting all of the details with pics. I recently got my injection working with that same SSR and MS3; tested it with water over a bucket before installing...you are right, it works great and not only comes in smooth but it's nice to have so much control over it now with TS.
Have a link to those filters?
Good idea on tapping the filters like that, I may copy it

Made it to the track again, only got 2 passes again. Found out the LSD is shot. Was a one wheel wonder. First pass was just to shake out the bugs shifting at 5k and making sure I could stop with my crap front only brake setup. 13.2 @ 112. 6lbs.
Bumped timing a degree leaned it out a half point and shifted at 5800 next pass. 12.2 @ 119. Still at 6lbs creeps to 8 at the very end.
Not bad! Little hairy with out the LSD. I have a spool and some decent axles and c-clip eliminators I need to install.
Though it was a little weird my DC was at 95%. Running 76% ethanol. No boost reference line on the FPR yet and 58 base. Also the car noses over at 5800ish. No idea why. Seems like every LS I build does this. at 4.5 on the dwell. Running dual spring BTR .660 lift springs on a pretty moderate GM hot cam. 219/228 @ 112 .525 lift. Cams rated at 1700 to 6700.
Threw some tint on the old girl today. Now it looks like every other white notch!
