mp 4303 vs twin bosch 044
Hey guys, looking to get some input on a fuel pump for my build. First here are the specs of the car:
87 notch
6.0 sbe w/ LJMS cam/ head studs/ ls9 gaskets/ holley hi ram
holley 120lb injectors
FI billet S480 V1 w A2A setup
pump gas with meth (still want to be able to run e85 if i choose)
rossler 1.80 glide
9" w/ 3.50 gears
holley dominator EFI
I think i have it narrowed down to two pump setups either dual 044s or a magnafuel pump. I want a setup that will work on the street as well with no heating issues. Also i plan to up the power down the road and want to be able to support 1100ish rwhp.
For the fuel system im thinking -10 from the cell to a y block -8 into the rails and then into the regulator and -8 return. If i do the twin 044s i will run two lines from the cell to the pumps ( probably -8) then to a y block out of the pumps and -10 to the rails.
Ive also considered the holley 12-1800 pump but worry about street driving with it as it is not recommended on their site. I know crusty nova has had good luck with it on his car. I also considered an aeromotive eliminator with their controller but seems like more money for no reason compared to the bosch and magna fuel setup. Finally any input on a fuel pressure regulators would be appreciated. My thought is to run one of the boost reference magnafuel regs.

Brushless pumps are not new, maybe just new for Holley.
And some say the 044 isnt reliable on E85...so that rules that out.
AEM and Grams make pumps like an 044 they claim is E85 capable and claim it performs better than an 044....
Only time will tell if those claims are true...and how long for.
And as others have said, for 1100+ on E85...you'd be looking at a pair of 4303's anyway and a pair of 044's certainly wouldnt do it

It would be something to consider if the OP wasn't looking for E85.
Holley claims:
V1 - 2150 HP
V2 - 4400 HP

The Veyron pump has been around for years....name being a clue to it's origins and how long ago that might be. But they are not cheap and never have been.

Both are fine with E85
Of course....whether Holley's claims prove reality are another matter. The 4303 is touted as a 2000hp pump.....reality in an EFI application isnt anywhere near that, try chopping it in half.
And given their mounting two small basic pumps in an enclosure didnt seem to go well for reliability....who in their right mind is going to take the same risk with a ******* expensive pump !

( I know it isnt Holley, but almost all US pump makers seem to spoof a bit with regards their pumps abilities )

You can buy 3 AEM 380s cheaper than 1 4303. Run a dedicated single AEM380 and 2 additional pumps that kick on in boost.
I run the 4303 and like it, but around 160 traps and 3100lbs it's done on my setup. And that with 43 base pressure and 18ish lbs of boost. I've added pump voltage booster (rated at 22v) to it since and the pressure is steady. No idea how far I can take it now. It's also a loud bastard.
