Default Ring gap for boost

Ok guys I have a 408 that I was going N/A with, but I came across a turbo kit at a good deal. My question is will my ring gap be ok with boost. Engine specs are: 408 with callies dragonslayer crank, callies billet rods, ported and polished 317s with cometic gaskets, and head studs and main studs, wiesco pistons flat tops with valve reliefs top ring on 19 bottom ring on 21. Engine is together and ready to go, but its not in the car yet, Let me know what you guys think. thanks

You should open the gaps. Maybe around 26-28 on the top ring. Also what's your compression? Turbos don't like a lot and its best to be around 10-1 or less. Some people run higher.

I am building mine now so I am also learning and have done a lot of research so far.

Brian tooley ran my numbers for my custom cam which is a turbo cam to help with the compression it's built to drop the cylinder pressure. With that being said it's 10.7 is what he came up with. I will also be on e85

Rings are one of the only things that the bigger the gap, the better I feel.

Pump, pump/alchy/water & race gas all benefit from different gaps.

Turbo motors that I've built I run the 25-28 for the top & I tighten the second up to about 18-20.

You'll never **** up an engine because of too big ring gaps.... ( well unless you get silly with them )

Are your pistons designed with boost in mind ?

How much boost do you expect to use ? What fuel ?

Boost wise anywhere from 15 to 20lbs and it will be on e85. I have wiseco flat tops with valve reliefs. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not going to blow the tops of the pistons off. lol

And that doesnt answer if the pistons were designed with boost in mind.

the pistons are forged wiseco -3 flat tops with valve reliefs. Top ring is on 19 and the bottom is on 21.

Pistons are designed to be uses as NA or Nitrous or Blower/turbo type. That's what they are asking for.
