So I currently have a stock ATI 8 rib setup right now. I picked up an SDCE tensioner that I would like to incorporate into my setup. Will I need to purchase a new crank pulley to work with the tensioner? I have an ATI damper on the car with the stock procharger 8 rib pulley bolted to the front but from reading this will not work? I am a bit lost on this. Any help appreciated.
With the 7.65" crank pulley and the sdce tensioner it will raise the belt and and make contact with the factory bell style water pump. You can either get the sdce 7.25" crank pulley or get a ls2 corvette water pump that has a flat face and will clear the belt
Post back if you would when you get it all together. I have been thinking about swapping the ls1 water pump for the ls2 and going bigger on the crank pulley VS a smaller blower pulley. Also do your self a favor and get the Gates laser alignment tool, I think SDCE J bracket spacing is a little different than the stock Procharger .

I will but you may be waiting a while as my car is completely stripped down right now. Rebuilding it from the front to the back. At this point just trying to get little things worked out.
I used to have one and went to an aster bracket and im happy with the aster bc i went with the cbm 8.65 crank so i can get 14 lbs out of my p1sc-1 with a 3.7 pulley .

No problem, this would be a Jan/Feb 17 winter project for me. Car is running good and I want to enjoy it for our short summers here.
When I put my car back together last time I had everything assembled on the engine before it went back in the car. It was so easy to check belt alignment sitting on the floor with the motor hanging in space. I ended up shimming the blower pulley .050 closer to the motor and had to add a shim in between the stand off nut and J bracket on the bottom mount. Had perfect belt alignment with the laser tool, this is the longest I've been able to keep a belt in good shape.
I just got mine going with the sdce bracket and 7.25"/3" pullies but I'm getting to much slip so I threw the 3.4" pulley on. I was getting to 12psi at 3000rpm but starting slipping after that and only got to 16psi once before the belt shredded. While it was at the dyno i was able to make 530whp with the belt slipping. I'm seeing about 14-15psi now with the 3.4"
I wanted to before but was being cheap but now I'm going to up size to 8.65" crank pulley and see if I can't hit 20psi!

The bigger pullies will fit with the sdce bracket as well. I up sized on my bro's car that has the LS2 wp from the 7.25" to the 7.65" a couple weeks ago and went from 10.5-11psi to 13.5-14 psi

So with the LS2 water pump your having no issues with the blower ramp up to the SDCE spring tensioner ?
Maybe I'll take a pic for you non believers. There's not a lot of difference between the 2 tensioner setups. If you incorporate a cheap man's belt wrap mod or possibly use the aster bottom standoff and idler belt wrap would be identical. I may try to add an idler pulley to that bottom standoff and try the 3" pulley again. I kinda forgot about that option really. Anybody have a part # for an 1.75" offset idler pulley?

I'm not doubting you, Just want to make sure the Ls2 water pump was the only thing you had to change to keep the SDCE and run a bigger crank pulley. As you said the 2 J brackets are very close to each other for the placement of the spring tensioners. I thought I read somewhere that SDCE changed the length of the stand off nuts so the standard 7.65 procharger crank pulley wouldn't line up with the blower pulleys.
Standoffs were the same but shims may have to be placed because every car is different. The second sdce setup I bought the previous owner left his shims and washers exactly how he had it on his car but using the laser align tool I had to add a couple washers to one standoff. He was ls1 I'm a '99 5.3
Husker, thanks for the info on what our doing. Keep us posted on how it all works out for you please if you change your system up any. Quick question though, I know with the Aster bracket apparently the water pump pulley needs to be pressed forward some, will this still be the case with an SDCE setup?
It may depend or be different for everyone. I've heard with the Aster some pulled it out and others got away with leaving how it was stock. The reason you need to pull it out is that the pulley is designed to work on a corvette in which the accessories run closer to the engine so on the ls1 accessories they pull it out so the belt lines up better. On my brothers car we pulled it out just a hair. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow
