Default 1978 280z Twin Turbo 6 Speed

Its been a while since ive posted on the forum. Here's my current build (which i hope to finish this time). Basically bought the car running and driving with a l28 turbo engine setup. I parted the factory style engine/trans/susp/and bascially everything else out because all i really wanted was a decent shell. So the progress so far as follows:

How I bought the car running and driving.

Picked up the the motor from Tick Performance. 346ci LS iron block, Super Voctor EFI intake with Nick Williams 90mm TB, 160lb Injectors with -8 rails, stock 853 heads (freshened up), Tick stage 3 turbo cam, wiesco pistons, callies rods, stock crank. Not looking to push it past 1100rw on this setup so wasnt really trying to do a very expensive motor.

Some front suspension stuff needed changing to get the car this low. Welded in camber plates, built coilovers, made everything adjustable.

Custom motor plate in on the way so i can set it in for the long mockup. Headers im using have already been mocked up. Ill be posting lots of pics as it progresses so stay tuned. This is just my fun little 6 speed build which will be a track/street car. Weight plans will be in the 2500 range complete. Should be a runner im hoping. Ford 8.8 rear and 4 link is next on the build list.

This looks promising so far. What type of coilovers are those? We have heard of people using coilovers from an early integra on Zs for the camber adjustment and ability to lower the car more.

They are the Techno Toys Kit with 250lb springs. Used VW Scirocco stru inserts to achieve the shorter height. Went to local bearing place to get the bearing for the top hats and had Michael Hennessey cut my custom camber plates to fit some ebay mk1 camber plate piece i bought. Kinda confusing lol.

There is a lot of win going on in this thread so far. I love the look and stance of the car. Definitely going to be watching to see how this turns out!

I just realized you are the same guy who was building the high mounted twin setup on a black 4th gen TA that I was following along on. I guess I just like your style lol

I own a Motorsports business which is where it is in a few pics. The smaller shop in the pics is at my house. I take back and forth depending on what I need to do.

Got the motor set in place. Custom motor plate tapped for -12 AN fittings so i dont have to run adapters. Forward facing headers with vbands. Soon to have mockup turbos hanging on the front. Also a steel midplate im having cut will be installed in place of the plate that comes with the quicktime bellhousing. Picked up the bell at a steal new for $350 .
