Procharged 4.8 with room to grow
Ok,
I have a 4.8 with like 1000 original miles gen4 super clean like dripping in gold flakes and mustang crushing dreams,
I also have a set of old prc 2.5 243 heads
along with a tsp blower b cam
lift intake .640, exhaust .647 duration intake .227 exhaust .235 with 114 lsa
looking at a ls6 intake, figured 1 7/8th headers flow in and out best I can
the cam is designed for a ls3 which in a couple years id move to. Figure d1sc would be plenty for the 4.8 but with the goals a ls3 after a deployment or two,
an f1x would be better for that but maybe too much for the 4.8
end goal is like 650 or more rwhp
open to suggestions and what not. Want to get the car up and running again as I sold my lsa ls2 w/ ls3 top end and need that blower whine.

Well Im really looking for suggestions on blowers suppose I should have made that more clear. I have found like 3 people running an f1x on 5.3 with good results but its on a stand dyno not driving.

I would prob watch the valve to piston clearance with the cam, the 4.8 prob has flat top pistons-I would imagine you would have to spin A D1SC up pretty good to get good power, so you would have to watch blower speed
I hear ya on the blower whine, I miss it, although I can hear my turbo winding up inside

A D-1SC can make 750 to 800 rwhp and is good for low 9 second in the 1/4, it sounds ideal for your plans. Bob

There have been some 5.3 with an f1x putting out very good numbers.
I recall one that was a stock bottom end with an f1x that pushed out over 1200 hp on an engine dyno. Believe it was on methanol, and it had a crazy cam profile to move the power very high in the rpm range to help keep the heads down.

There is a video on youtube somewhere on the engine dyno.
