Default 69 Camaro SS (9 second club) Sloppy mechanics track day

Went my personal best in my car yesterday at Matts track day at Cecil county dragway. After some 1/8th mile tuning on low boost I started turning it up and went my new personal best. 9.47 @ 144. 95% street car. No cage, lap belts ,shitty Lakewood traction bars , etc. yes I know that's fast without safety gear no need to criticize me over it. It may see the track once or twice a year. 19psi in 1st gear leaving off footbraked 2 step at 3500rpm. 7.2 psi on the line ,19psi in 1st gear, 20psi in 2nd and 3rd. 9-10 degrees of timing

60 ft -1.46
330- 3.97
1/8- 6.08 @116
1000- 7.91
1/4- 9.47 @ 144

Can we get some info on the set up? Also a pic of the engine bay? In the process of a 68 Camaro turbo build at the moment and could use some ideas thanks!

First and foremost, that thing is fast! And second, it's a really good looking car. I do have a question though, what fuel are you using? I ask because 9-10 degrees seems over the top safe. This is not meant to be critical, but am just curious.

Fuel - wawa 92 pump gas. Lol
50/50 water meth with 2 -14 nozzles and progressed to start 12psi and at 17 psi it's all in.

Did they kick you off the track after you strolled down the track like that? And no, I'm not about to start the whole safety sermon, as I will never cage my car either.

They actually warned everyone before hand and said u would get a warning if u go too fast and that they we're following nhra rules no matter what and if u ran too fast again they would tell u to park it. I know of someone that got booted for running 10.30s. I went a 10.22 @ 133 on 13lbs and they never said anything. I went a 9.81 @ 140 on 17psi. And they never said anything. And than the 9.47 @144 on 20 psi. Nothing said. I called it quits with that run as I was pushing it pretty hard and didn't wanna mess anything up and very happy with the pass. Maybe the tinted windows helped with them not seeing a cage. Lol

Thumbs up

Best part of this all is I had a bare block a week ago and built the motor myself for the first time ever. New main bearings reused rod bearings. Worked 10 hour days and would come home spend time with my kids til they went to bed and work on car from 9-til 2-3am. All paid off on fri. Very supporting wife helps a lot too. Couldn't be much happier with results.
