Default Help with boost gauge

Hey guys,

I got the cyberdyne boost/vacuum electronic gauge right now and recently added a 10lb pulley instead of my 8lb. Im only seeing 7 1/2ish psi at 6800(rev limit) I did the pull in 3rd as well. I was wondering if this gauge isnt accurate enough and if I should go mechanical. Theres no belt slip either and Im pretty sure theres no leaks. Could it be a lazy gauge Thanks for the help

I dont trust those gauges, I was going to try one but the sender didnt look that great.

I had a regular autometer mechanical and almost killed myself trying to keep an eye on that thing. I ended up buying the autometer phantom recall boost gauge. It wasnt cheap but the ability to keep your eyes on the road then push a button to see max boost is worth it. I think yours has max boost also but the autometer uses a 2 bar GM map sensor and calibrates itself everytime you turn on the key - its a nice gauge..

ditto what KP said, I have the cyberdyne digital gauge and it gives out wacky readings. I am ditching it for a Nordksog digital(cause I have a new one that I can try out) and if that does the same as the cyberdyne, I will go with my old autometer mechanical one and add the memory feature that they have listed in the jegs catalog.

On a mechanical gauge you can blow about two-three psi that it will show. With the cyberdyne you can blow into the sender until you are blue in the face and it won't read anything. Cheap test but effective.

Mine is an electronic/analog with memory, 5776 (15psi) is the autometer part number. They dont make a mechanical with recall as far as I know..

Yeah its an add on, sorry about that I already have my old autometer mechanical boost gauge and saw the Blower Memory Kit listed in Jegs. Page 129.

It says that it can be used with any air pressure gauge....

Cheaper than getting another damn boost gauge I have 3 laying around now lol,

I made a peak hold switch for my mechanical autometer boost gage.

Just a simple 3 way air toggle switch and a 1 way mini check valve is all that's needed.
Flip the switch to go from normal to peak hold.
For some reason the tiny check valves leak after a while and need to be replaced now and then..

electronic version is probably more accurate. Mechanical is cheap and works well.
Neither will get you down the track any faster.
