Default Help with 4" down pipe

I will need to make my own downpipe for my huron t4 kit. I am using a BW S480 so I have questions on where you are finding universial pipe kits that are 4" diameter? I want to run my exhaust all the way out back and have a BMR turbo K to help with room.

Also just for thought what is a reasonable shop charge to make a downpipe? My fab skills are not the greatest so may resort to paying someone.

Thanks,
Kyle

Dont know what a shop would charge but i made my own and i have S480 on the v1 kit (modified for t6) and BMR TurboK. Ill try to get you some pics when i get home. I run the cone off the turbo transitioned to 4" then 4" back to a cutout, then 3" all the way through my magnaflow. I got my pipes from ebay, forgot where I got the transition from

Awesome thank you for the reply and photos would be a huge help. I saw where LJMS has a vband flange for the s400 series turbos that looked like a quality peice.

Thanks again

I think it depends on your manifolds. If they turn down and face forward like a truck manny, then it is difficult to get 4"or 5" through. This is the reason I chose to do a bumper exit with a muffler. Took a little engineering, and lost the fog lights, but it was very quiet on the street.

Sorry OP, forgot to answer your actual question!
I don't think anyone makes a pre-welded down pipe for an F body front mount, there are just too many variables.
Racepartsolutions.com is a good source for mandrel bends and V-bands, but I don't think they carry mild steel anymore, just stainless and aluminum.
I mounted my turbo, then figured out where I could route the DP, ordered the pieces, cut to fit, tack welded them together, took them to a shop to finish weld.

LOL, it took a long time for me to weld up and get it to a point where it would work. Hopefully I can get some pics up after work. I originally had it dumped out the PS fender towards the bottom but it was too loud to cruise around town with

cashbrown - Sweet front muffler action! Im all about quiet on the street. I built an exhaust all the way to the back and through a multi-chamber muffler....but I have an exhaust cutout up front for occasional use right off downpipe. Would be nice to have no exhaust lik you....would have saved me alot of time (multiple days)

Sorry cant get any good one. My leg is in a brace so I cant get under the car or jack it up. Basically it makes a 90 to the left right behind the manifold then another 90 towards the back and runs along the frame to just beside the starter.

I bought my pipe from a truck auto parts store, they have all kinds of bends, and slip together, so you can twist them in diff directions-RPS also sells pipe

That's basically what i was trying to do but i don't think i can get a 4" pipe through. we put a 3" pipe through the K by the starter and that was awfully tight as it was. i may just need to modify the manifolds and merge pipe.

Thats what mine is, it took a lot of pie cuts to get the angle correct, but it worked.
