Default Best ls turbo Intake

I have a 1990 s10 shorted narrowed rear back half with a 8.8 ford explorer 4.56 gears rear end and a 2003 chevy tahoe 5.3 lm7. So far We have taken apart the engine, Im using the stock crank, callies compstar H rods, weipco flat top pistons, comp cam 278 285 .605 .598 lift 113 lsa titanium double springs and chromoly rods, borg werner 80mm turbo t6, intercooler, arp bolts on heads and main studs. I got 88# fast injectors and a fast fuel rail. Im looking to see what would be the best intake manifold to run to get the best performance. Im going to be running 109 unleaded vp fuel with a tanks inc gpa-6. I have a ls1 intake available but was looking at the victor jr or the edlebrock high ram? Suggestions

Also Im doing a drive by wire, so what throttle body would y'all go with?

There's very little hp to gain in a boosted car with different intakes, is been tested and proven over and over, some people claim staying polymer will help with heat soak however. You'd be better off staying with your ls1 intake and spending your money elsewhere IMO

Default TURBO Intake Manifolds

YES, the Intake Manifold DOES make a great difference, the difference is in "spool".

The good advice IS the "forgotten" Truck Intake, with the longer runners, may be your best choice.

The other choice is the use of an ITB intake with long runners, large inlet "bell" mouth.

My ITB intake works very well with it's eight 65mm butterflies.
The cost is a lot more over a "used" truck intake.

Truck or TBSS is probably going to be best value performer and would definitely be an upgrade over an LS1 intake.

Carb intake no, ProFlow would be good if you expect to run in the 6000rpm and upwards range.

I found a intake by symbol performance but I don't know what to do about the throttle body I want to run a 102 throttle body but I have a psi harness that is for the stock lm7.

Symbol seems to the same Chinese intake a lot are selling. Older ones more crappy than newer versions.

Fine if you're going to be running 7k+ all the time, pretty crap anywhere else compared to other intakes.

Even if it is track...unless you're spinning over 7k, the big intakes will be of no real benefit.

TBSS intake will be perfect for a stock crank.

Get a forged crank, spin it past 7500rpms, buy a hi-ram or a super vic, until then, stay with the factory plastic intakes.

Thanks for the advice, Also do you know anyone who makes a 102mm throttle body for the gen III PSI harness I found one but that sucker is $650 and was wondering if there are any other options or if I should go with the ls2 90mm?

You will surpass the limits of the block with a 90mm TB and good turbo. Plenty of people are running low 8's with stock truck intakes, LS1 intakes..... even running production cast exhaust manifolds.

The Holley Hi-Ram is a nice intake. Looks sexy. Has the optional convenience of an air to water intercooler. However, it is not the end-all answer to intake inquiries.

For the rpm range that a cast crank can be expected to survive, the longer runners of the factory style intakes are a better match, with or without boost. Just because you are boosting the motor doesn't mean you are allowed to pick parts that otherwise don't make sense.

The "just turn up the boost" mentality is for amateurs. Pick parts that compliment one another. Do not rely on boost to make up for **** poor planning and part selection.

The hideous TBSS intake will easily get you into single digit 1320 times.

three of my friends are in the 7s with the stock plastic intakes
one of them traps 183mph @ 3500lbs

so the $5 intake works pretty good lol
