Default Deka 80lbs on lsxrt O ring

Hey guys , well I'm using a Fast Lsxrt intake for my turbo setup with Deka 80 lbs injectors. The problem I'm having is the o ring that Fast provides ID is to big for the Deka injectors and they are loose. The size I need is
.61 OD x .30 ID The closes thing I found is .599 OD x .30 ID and they are a bit loose on the intake side. What O-rings are you guys running with the Fast intakes. Thank you in advance.

I was thinking of making the OD of the actual injector bigger by wrapping it around with some aluminize tape to make the OD match the Fast O-rings but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea.

This are the closest o rings I've found but the OD needs to be .61

That sounds like an incredibly large hole in the intake for the injector if you're needing an o-ring that size ?

What is the actual diameter of the hole ?

I'm not in front of the intake but I can tell you the OD of the o rings that Fast provides is .61 and it fits perfect .. The problem is that their ID does not match the Deka Injectors

So I needed up making the OD of the injectors bigger with aluminum tape to make the o rings fit better. It worked like a charm

I would like to hear why it wouldn't work out ... I spoke to injector connections and they said that is fine and they do this for a living ... but if you guys have another input as off why this wouldn't work I would love to hear it

It seems like a well thought out solution to me, however it really is a shame that there are not proper o-rings available for this? I may have just sent it back and went with an LS6 and saved a ton of cash. You can always make up that difference in flow with a tweak of the boost controller. What size are the o-rings that came on the Deka injectors? I'm guessing that the injector boss in the Fast intake is larger than stock? If so I wonder why they did that? Maybe to fit a larger selection of after market or low impedance injectors? It would be interesting to know the back story here. Makes me want to go out to the garage and start measuring fuel injector O rings on the multiple sets of old injectors out there I've gone through as I've increased power over the years on my multiple cars. I mistakenly thought they were all the same.

I do love that aluminum tape though. All you need in your tool box are 3 things, Aluminum tape, a BFH and a can of WD40, to solve 95% of the worlds problems. I've used it for multiple things like sealing up the trap door I cut for fuel pump access, and fixed a cracked heater/evaporator box with it once. Come to think of it, it will probably fix my cracked dash pad too if I put it on from the under side.

sticky tape on a critical part of the engine...yep, good thinking.

Or how about just get the correct o-rings, or if the intake has been made wrong, have it replaced.

I don't think you understand. They don't have the correct o ring to work with the deka injectors .. we would just have to agree to desagree.. not everything in high performance fits perfect sometimes you have to cut , bend , and think outside the box to make it work .. I needed to build up the outside diameter of the injector so I used aluminise tape that its actual aluminum... but that's the way I did it and I'm happy with it.

I'm not sure what size these are, but I had to use them on my LS3 intake with Holley 120#ers: http://store.katechengines.com/fuel-...s7ls3-p17.aspx

my concern would be creating a vaccum or boost leak from not having a smooth seat for the oring to land on.

give this dude a call, if they're available he can get you the right o rings

And over time, with heat the sticky tape will fail and it will turn into a mess...nevermind when fuel also finds its way into it on boost.
