Lets talk Borg race covers
Are they really worth 50-100HP? (Depending on the combo)
If so, probably the least expensive 100HP you can get at $385!
Is it a bolt on, any machining required?
besides the slip-on and facy machined inlet piece, whats done inside that it moves more air or the same air more efficiently?

From what I understand, the 50-100 horsepower is just additional POTENTIAL over a non race cover. I think the A/R is different also allowing it to move more air. I do believe they are a "drop in." I could be wrong on this stuff, but that's my best guess.

I just swapped covers with no issues. If for a fast wheel the standard raxe cover works for your mm size, if for billet you should call the company you got the turbo from so you get the same profile cut into
The housing is larger by about an inch

Yes, it was a direct bolt on. I ordered it with a race cover, and the vendor sent it to me with a standard cover. They sent me the race cover, and I unbolted the clamp and swapped the race cover right on. Unfortunately though I had already bought the expensive v-band assembly for the non-race cover...
