Default Cast S480 VS Billet S480 Clone

Best $$ for buck.

I just sold my s475 and am considering one of the two s480. Not sure on which will make more power and which is better for the money. They are priced pretty close to one another.

Current combo:

Alum 5.3
LJMS stage 2 cam
799 heads
ls6 intake
TH400 3.27 rear gear
2900lbs

Car will be used for 80% track, 20% street and will be cranked up >20psi.

When this 5.3 breaks a 6.0 or stroker will likely wind up in its place.

Anyone have any experience on these two?

Thanks!

There have only be a few guys that have posted any numbers with the VS turbo so far. I have been debating which of these two turbos to get as well.

Its not very often you see a back to back comparison of a real vs china turbo. Good luck lol.

From what I've seen numbers wise of the VS Billet S480, I would go that route.

There was a guy on the FB group who was supposed to do a back-to-back of the S475 and the VS480. Haven't seen any results though. I am leaning towards the VS for my set up.

I just purchased the s480 billet knock off, it seems to be a really nice piece.

I believe the knock off has an additional 7mm on the exducer VS the cast S480 and it's lighter weight. So it should move more air. I went from a billet S476 to the VS S480. Sure felt like it was making more power. Blew my trans first pass with it though. Will have more info next year.

Sorry, non-sponsor link. Check out some of our sponsors for turbos.

I wish he was a sponsor here. Definitely has a lot to offer the community.

That's awesome to see ljms carrying this turbo. Hope you get a lot of sales on it. I will likely buy one when I get bored with this 7875.
