Default Single or Twins???

Looking for some advise. I already have a 71 Camaro with a 6.0 78/75 set up. I am swapping my 67 Nova now. I have a Gen 4 5.3 going in it. I was thinking of doing the billet 78/75 from Viren Singh. I am also thinking about possibly doing a twin set up in it. I will probably not put a cam in it right away. The car is 90% street use. My Camaro makes 550whp at 10lbs with a stock cam. This is how I normally drive it around. I want the car to light off quick also. I just don't know enough about running twins and not sure I want to buy two turbos and wastegate. Also would I need two widebands? Just trying to get some input to make a decision. Max power I would want to make is 700whp anything over that is a bonus. Most of the time it would be driven around 500-550whp.

Twins. BW S366 turbos. I've got a 408 and they spool instantly. Turbos can be had for $1050 shipped. I went with JGS wastegates. You will make well over 700hp with this combo.

Your 408 and a 5.3 are going to spool differently lol.

what do you mean you want it to make 700, but drive it around on 500-550? You know you don't have to have it to the floor every time you drive right? (I know it's more fun) Leave it turned up and regulate the foot feed!

Like instant.....really instant ? Even at 2000rpm ? 3000rpm ? Full target boost...the instant you touch the pedal ? Or like 0.1s...0.2s..0.3s ? or 1s, 2s, 3s ?

Given the small engine and the description of his driving style, a pair of small turbos in the say 53-58mm range would be more than adequate and spool far faster than any lazy 366 will.

At the cheaper end he could go for something like this

https://agpturbo.com/borg-warner-agp...-turbocharger/

Or one of the SXE versions.

If he really did never want much over 700, then he could go smaller again

As for singles or twins...dead simple. Whatever fits your car ( and budget ) the easiest...only whoever is building it can decide that one.

I've found plenty of examples of people using a single s369sxe on the truck forum. Both on 4.8L and 5.3L. This turbo will work great, but if you want to make 700RWHP, that won't happen unless you run 20psi, this applies to any turbo you get...

This is the turbo I am going to use on my single turbo build for street car, 2800lbs

http://www.full-race.com/store/turbo...64-5mm-1.html/

It will be pushed to 15psi max, around 7psi average street duty. Supports enough power for a stock 5.3L engine (500-550rwhp at that boost pressure) and behind a proper auto/stall/gear will have no trouble spooling quickly. It may support much more power at higher pressures but if the engine is "built" with good flowing parts, it may run out of breath at almost any setting. SO I am using it for mostly stock truck 5.3's (which are disposable and cheap)
