Default Proj. Turdgen- Twin Turbo Iroc

well i figured i would start a build thread even tho it will be slow going on my project because of budget, but heres the run down thus far

1985 iroc i purchased with 93k on the clock, originally a 305/t5 car, i built a high compression afr headed 406sbc that ran really stout but the need for more hp had me selling off the 406 and t5 to get me started on this new project

Engine specs:
6.0 block bored and stroked to a 402ci
callies dragon slayer crank and h beams, wiseco billet pistons
ported lsa heads with arp studs, copper o-ringed deck
custom cam motion SRD cam
morell 5315 lifters
straub trunion kit
ls 58x swap harness
super vic intake with arrons elbow
80# injectors
still need a maf based alky control kit
went with a huron speed 4th gen twin kit
on3 7875's (to start probably upgrade after awhile)

Drivetrain
have a stock t56 that will get built along with a nice dual disc clutch
Moser 12 bolt rear

Chassis
full spohn tubular kmember/a arms with flaming river manual rack
pa racing coilovers and caster/camber plates
founders tubular rear suspension and torque arm
i have a wolfe mini tub kit to install along with strange coilovers for the rear
345/30/19 rears on 19x12s i have grand sport wheels and a set of c6 spyder wheels
smoothing the engine bay but not going super crazy, just got my tig so just started on all that
still need sfc and a 6pt cage

car will be just a badass street car that i want to lay down 1000rwhp on pump and meth, heres some pics of the car and parts and progress

havent ran it yet but if anything i will go with an electric assist powersteering unit, there is a guy on ebay selling a control box to work with a fairly compact saturn electric assist unit, hoping with manual brakes ill be able to mount it right by the fire wall if i need to, they do make universal columns with the electric unit built in but they are pricey and not sure how much real estate they take up under the dash

Funny I've got the same patch work in my strut towers as you do but your paint is a hell of a lot better than mine!! Hell yeah 3rd gen pride!

Cool project-does that front x mem. bolt in, is it made for the LS conv.?
A buddy wanted to give me a 3rd gen, doesn't run, been sitting in his garage for years-super body and interior. Thinking if one of my other
projects leaves, there would be an opening in the garage, lol.

Twin 78/75s but will swap out later? For what? I'd think two of those are capable of way more than 1k rwhp considering some people have gotten around 800 out of 1 lol

So where did the link go ? It was a link to a CX kit but now I see you say Huron speed 4th gen kit.

So what needs to be modified to fit a 3rd gen?

im not sure what its gonna take to fit the huron speed kit but i seen a guy do a huron speed single kit in a third gen with only minor mods as that kit uses stock manis with no band so it has a big flange he cut off and vbanded, i think he went power tbird rack as well so hopefully minor clearancing is all it will take, the kmember is a spohn ls swap kmemnber with coilover option and tubular a arms

ill run the 7875's cuz i got a killer deal on them but may swap for s369's down the road, really just depends how long these last and how well they spool, my engine buider put down over 800 wheel with one of these on a 5.3 and 4l80 so may be overkill but as long as they arent lag masters ill run them

just thought id post an update, the huron speed kit fits pretty damn well with the rack and pinion set up, the wonder bar will have to get reconfigured and maybe some extension pieces welded on the gates, the cold side will need some work, with my super vic intake the bovs dont clear the the hood so i think if i section the cold side pipe and bring the bovs closer to the nose it should clear, not sure how im goin to run the down pipes yet so that will be interesting as well heres the pics anyways

Sweet looking car and plans! One of my 'what if builds' is a Twin Turbo Trans Am, as I've got the right year for it after all. Where about are you at, if you're local, can't wait to see it on the road.
