Default How far can I take deka 80's on e85?

5.3, btr stage 1 turbo cam, twin 044 pumps, e85, 7875, etc... goal is 700whp, will the deka 80's get me there running e85 at 4bar(boost referenced fpr)? Because if not I'm just gonna get the 160's..feel like the 80's will be close to their limits.

With a high base pressure it should be doable.

I made a lil north of 700 on 13lbs with 80's & a single 450 pump.. IDC's was 114%, but my fuel pressure was dropping pretty bad. I imagine when I add a second pump & bigger feed & return it will lower the IDC. My base pressure is set at 58psi

at 58 base on pump e85 we went 9.40 at 141 mph in a 3500 lb car. 20.3 psi boost. 100%d.c. 5.3 with 78/75 on3 turbo. deka 80's

I have ran 9.90 at 3500 lb in my nova with deka's 14 psi boost 6.0 , single aem 380 pump 55 psi base. that is about all for a single pump.

OK perfect, sounds like I'll be fine if I have enough pump and large enough lines. I was thinking 8an feed splitting to 6an at the rails(ebay rails) and running a base pressure of 58psi along with a rising rate fpr. Trying to save as much money as i can so saving $150 on injectors will help, Thanks guys

i have about the same goal as you, using a very similar fuel system.

i'm pretty confident it'll work.

Anyone run these at a high base pressure? I seem to remember skinnies running deka 80's on his rx7 at something like a 70psi base pressure.

the Camaro that runs 9.40s runs 58 psi base and 1to 1 raise with boost. it works pretty good that way. I think it will go 9 flat with everything set like it is but after that we will try upping base pressure and ill let you know how it works.

Thanks!

I just saw 105% dc with a 58psi base and 1:1 as well. This was at 14lbs boost and 6800 rpm, T7575 turbo on a 5.3.

Skinnies is the highest number I've heard. Mustang dyno 855 thru a th400. 3 255hp pumps 69psi base pressure. 26lbs of boost.

Might consider the AEM 380 pumps instead of the 044's. They will go alot farther. 2 AEM380’s are good for roughly 180GPH @ 70psi. They will take the 80's a lot farther than the 044's.

Jarrett's (stock48) famous 8.39 pass was with 80 lb injectors on E85.
He was running like 70 PSI base pressure with a 1:1 and a Magnafuel 4303.

If you find you are running out of injector on E85, there is a really easy, zero cost way to extend them about another 10%. Blend your E85 back to about E70 with premium unleaded E10. 4 gallons of E85 to 1 gallon of E10 gives E70. There is virtually no difference in knock resistance between E70 and E85. You get a little more cooling from the E85, but it is really a very small difference. Normally E10 is available on the same pump with the E85, so blending it really is no big deal. There are a few other advantages to E70 as well, like it starts quicker on a cool day, and if it is a street car, you get about 10% more range from a tank of gas.

The group of people that chose 85% as the blend of ethanol in E85 fuel had the intent of replacing as much gasoline as possible with ethanol. After all, the intent of this fuel was to replace foreign oil, and clean up the environment, not fuel our tire burning machines. In fact it is a bit of an ironic deal that we are using this "clean renewable fuel" in our cars without catalytic converters, and our large overlap cams spewing out unburnt hydrocarbons out into the environment. If you took into account other factors, like cold starts, fuel range etc. E70 would have been a far better choice.
