Default Basic setup, how much boost??

throwing on a t76 turbo kit here soon on my stock bottom end ls1. untouched 799s, gm hotcam, stock ls6 intake, 255pump with hotwire kit, other supporting mods etc, 400rwhp

dont care for dyno numbers, id just like it to be safe/conservative and a little more fun to drive.

but since the cam is small and my heads are just stock 799s, should i plan on the heads and cam to help at all? or is it pretty much going to act as a stock ls1? because i see people running 8lbs on full stock ls1 hitting 500-550hp. reason is, my fuel system noted above, says it holds up to 550-600 depending on setup. wouldnt wanna hear from my tuner that im leaning out up top.
**What do you guys recommend for a wastegate spring to be worth my while?? ill get a boost controller if needed.

2 hour drive on trailer to my closest tuner, wouldn't wanna make 2 trips for a simple problem, what do you guys think?
thanks!

a properly set up manual boost controller will serve you really well. you can go from the lightest spring you have to nearly pinning the gate shut if thats what you want

what injectors do you have? a single 225 is really working out at 550 wheel. my buddy's car would go really lean after that on a single 225, 3/8 feed, 5/16 return.

ill be buying 60lb injectors at minimum. its the 255 racetronix, with hotwire kit. what kind of power is he making before he leans out? maybe a 6 or 7 lb spring with controller?

I'd just buy the 80 lb injectors they are about the same price. I think I paid $5 more for 80s vs 60s. I would estimate you will run out of fuel pump about 6-7 psi on your combo with a 255 pump. That should make you about 500-550 through an auto or close to 600 rwhp with a stick. Depends on the dyno and a few other variables.

On my setup, similar to yours, I have a little bigger cam and ported heads, but not dramatically different, every lb of boost was worth about 25 hp, on an unlocked auto. You may gain a little more on a stick because there is less loss, but my turbo is probably a little more efficient to negate that. So add 150-175 hp (for 6-7 lbs) to your stated 400, and that's about where you should be, and doing the math, that's about all a 255lph pump will put out fuel wise. These are round numbers because our cars are not exact, but should be reasonably close.

Isn't the obvious answer, to buy and bring all the available springs as well as a MBC and any needed install parts to your tuning session?
