do you and I have the same IC Jamie?
Novas are a pian to put a big IC in, they are too flat nosed.
Unless you just leave the grille and bumper off.

Yah Ron, we do. It took quite a bit to get it in there and get the grill and bumper filler back on.

You are telling me. I've done plenty of trimming on the grill and bumper filler panel to make things fit.

The build is looking good. How are you guys securing your radiators? Sandwich in place like the original?

I made a valance on my brake. It's got brackets underneath to keep the radiator from rocking back and forth.

Jason. Nice work!
We like Nova's.
Are you guys on the FB turbo Nova group?

Btw, my radiator is a fits all Griffin been in the car forever. It cooled the 496 just fine. Piece of cake for the 5.3. I used Corvette/Camaro fans pcm controlled.
Radiator is mounted like stock.

Thanks Ron, no FB for me. Anyway my car has 1"set back mounts and corvette accessory drive so I had a fair amount of room and was able set radiator back a few inches , it helped with room up front but made it so stock manifolds wouldnt work, hence the headers. I didn't trim much stuff at all, I had to trim hood latch support just a little bit and slightly notch grill for air filter. I will hopefully be putting rest of nose pieces on this weekend . And will update the pics as I go.

I like how yours is a bit simpler....looking back on it (1st turbo build so lotta should of's) a smaller frame t4 turbo and no twin scroll/twin waste gates would of been alot easier...

awesome build... doing a 72 turbo myself and have about 10-15 things left before done

I am interested to see what kind of power this puts down! It seems you went all out budget wise so why not an electronic boost controller as well?

Ya ....my budget....was non existent. I didn't bother with a electric boost controller cause the manual is simple and I just really don't need it. It's a street/protour car . If it was a full on drag car and I was trying to control ramp rates and stuff I would of . It may see drag strip a few times a year to play but that's it. Goal in my head was a car that has decent driving manners, turns corners, runs 10's in 1/4 and gets reasonable fuel mileage.....will see!

I see. You moved the radiator back.
I also used C5 accessory brackets etc. But my radiator is in the stock location.
I guess if I ever desire a bigger IC, I could do that.
On the other hand, I can easily change my belt.....

Luckily I have a lift at my home shop other wise belt and plugs would be a nightmare. Like I said I originally started this whole thing as a NA build and already had the c5 brackets....not the easiest route. Because of them, setback mounts and power steering it made use of stock or modified manifolds impossible hence the c5 turbo headers.

Just teasing you.
I also used setback mounts.
Along with big block frame stands (that others said wouldn't work) and I was able to use modified truck manifolds. Power steering as well.
The BB frame stands move the engine to 1/2" to the pass side.
also used the Holley Alt/steering bracket so I didn't have to use the expensive C5 alternator.

Keep us posted on how she runs!

A little more progress last night. Starting to look like a car again. Should have nose done except hood this weekend . The whole intercooler/turbo thing just makes it take so much longer to assemble! Lol

That's looking real good. Wow, your air filter is literally right up in your grill. Looks like you got it to fit somehow.

Question about how far back your engine sits, how much space do you have between the passenger side head and the firewall?
