the cage build......i really . really hated to take it back apart....but you know how that goes.
at this point the cage is done, i have a appointment for a nhra tech inspector to come certify it later this week then i can put seats and rug back in.
it was my 1st cage .....took way more time than i thought. came out decent , welds might not be as pretty as some being i mig'd it
rigged this up this am....bei g the car sits pretty low the axle vent tube was almost horizontal and after extended drives i was getting some fluid pushed out the vent. this should cure that (tape is temporary, lol)
installed and wired the new Holley 3.5 dash today too, I had one of the down pipes off so I didn' try it out. i had a post mounted boost gauge that will no longer fit because of the cage, i plan to use the holley dash to monitor boost and also use as a shift light
Good looking cage, debating a bar in mine now, I need to replace the headliner, but the last bar I put in my other car I burned the headliner, and was trying to be careful, lol. I have used a couple of the 3.5 dash's, once programmed they are pretty cool. Saves on a bunch of gauges.
on the cage build covering every thing is what took 90% of the time. to keep from burning the headliner I used wet cardboard then put a piece of aluminum flashing over it.....it was a total pia. a bar would of been easier but it's definitely 9 sec capable.
if I didn't have full gauges I would of gone for the larger Holley dash
