Default Ring seals on a turbonetics turbo.

During the last track outing I blew the seals on my turbo. I'm trying to replace the ring seals on a turbonetics 7668 billet wheel ball bearing turbo. From what I've gathered, because it's a ball bearing turbo there is not any seals available for purchase. I called up turbonetics and they only offer a rebuild service for $650.

looking for some help finding seals. Anyone have experience with turbonetics I'd appreciate it.

I'm on my second used Turbonetics turbo and never had an issue with oil seals.
Call Turbo Technology Inc. in Tacoma, WA and ask for George, he specializes in rebuilding turbos and may be able to help either buy rebuilding it or selling you the parts.

I would be amazed if there is anything DIY repairable on a BB turbo.

And how did you "blow the seals " ?

After some research I figured out the issue. After tearing my turbo apart visually everything looked fine. I learned that the piston ring seals do little to hold oil from leaking out.

I feel pretty stupid at this point after realizing I plugged the crank case breather on the passenger side valve cover. I was supposed to hook up a oil catch can and completely forgot about it. Drivers side I put a small filter on the pcv valve. Crankcase pressure was causing the smoke issue and oil coming out the turbine side of the turbo. Put the turbo back on and no oil leaking or smoke. Hopefully I didn't damage anything.

Yep, that is correct nothing is offered in a form of a rebuild kit for the BB turbos.

Hey live and learn bud.
I'm glad nothing was hurt, some aren't so lucky lol.
I know lots of guys that just put filters on each bank, I use a Mighty Mouse PCV catch can which works killer.

I was in a situation where I needed the whole exhaust wheel/shaft replaced after sending some shrapnel though the turbine housing. I spoke with T Netics and they wanted full retail on parts and premium prices on labor to replace this stupid wheel. It cost the same as purchasing a brand new TC unit.

I called up Forced Inductions and they balanced and swapped that thing out in a couple of weeks from start to finish for like $100 bucks. I purchased the wheel prior though.

I won't go anywhere else, those guys are more than fair and sure know what the hell their doing over there.

Thanks ya for now I put filters on both valve covers seems to be working good no oil coming out. Looking into building a catch can setup.

I don't get, it they charge a premium for their turbos you would think they would have better customer service.

Do you think they offer a billet wheel for the T7875?
Been kicking the idea around lately lol.

Sorry for the late reply, just saw this.

I don't know about this wheel. If they make a billet wheel I'd be real surprised if they didn't sell replacements. I'd check with Forced Inductions. They'd get them for much cheaper anyways...
Good luck
