The only kit it will fit on is the TTi race kit. Yes it'll work great on a 427 should be good for over 850rwhp.

Hmm T85, who built the unit?? A 85mm is an oddball, and sounds like a Detriot diesel unit or big frame garrett or schwitzer. If thats the case...no way it will fit with a TTI manifold. It would work on a 427 though just fine.

Is the motor setup for boost? I mean already built? If not you would have to replace the pistons with a pretty big dish because the heads you have already (GTP's) are milled correct? So im not sure how much boost you could run with the moter being at a higher Comp. Who's going to be doing the fab work to get everything lined up for the turbo piping? What else do you need to buy to get this kit to work? Wastegate, blowoff valve, manifolds, downpipes, Intercooler and lots of tuning to get it right. Just little stuff to think about.

Hmm, Master Power is the only thing out there that has that in the company name. Master Power though doesn't offer a T85. Find out the #'s on the turbo, or serial or part #. I can cross reference it and see what it may be. As for other units, well with a 427, a T88 is the minimum I would run if you looking to make any real power (~700+rwhp).

The TTI kit comes with T6 flange??? David has a TTi race kit and its a T4 flange. So unless TTI will do different flange combo's it won't work.

For turbo sizing try the Turbo Calculator on my site. I have the T76 and the T88 along with several other maps you plot the projected air flow right on the turbo map so you can select which one is right for your engine. I like the T76 turbo for a stock cubed LS1.

Your site rocks. I've been playing with it for a couple weeks now.

i think you can opt for diferent flanges on the kit. it shouldnt be to hard for them to put a T6 flange on when they make it.

i don't know of that, though i don't see why not either

lets take a step back from this..

you want to build a $12k engine to get a used turbo you got a deal on to work?
as mentioned you can get turbo's that work for the engine you allready have for less than 1k. of course you can certainly spend more.

Even if you can get a different flange welded on to it, I don't think a large frame thumper would work. Have you ever seen how large one of those units are. It dwarfs David's ITS-80. Heck the exhaust housing on a large frame unit is typically bigger then the compressor side...lol. Plus then you are looking at no less then a 5" downpipe, unless you neck the sukcer down big time, but then you are negating any real gain from running the big frame unit.

this is going on an entirely new engine. once my current project is done(waiting for parts now) i am planning on buying an MID block and selling all my current setup. i just thought that i would buy this turbo now since its a good price and build on it later.
