John - look at changing the lower shock mount from a bushing to a bearing-style mount when you upgrade. Helps reduce binding that the bushing mount can cause.

Jeremy I just came across the bearing-style mount ones, will definitely look into them.

B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter
Ron Rhodes seat brackets
Kirkey seats
Nine inch rear, came with car. Braced and rebuilt the internals, now has QP 40 spline axles, nodular iron center section, spool and 3.50 gears
Chris Alston ladder bars modified to run 3/4 rod ends up front. New track locator. Running solid ends in back.
TH400 stock gearing built by Pete Caira and Andy Vogt
Midwest Converter, used from Pete Caira, plan to swap it to PTC in 2023 when new motor goes in
TCI SFI Flex plate
Strange single adjustble coilover shocks in back, some hand me downs. Will be replaced in 2023.
Sanders 15x3.5 fronts, MT SR 26" tires
Sanders 15x12 1.5 backspace rears, 295/65/15 MT DRs

2023 Plans:
-Figure out front end vibration, change plugs, race it at GLD in Spring
-Awaiting my time slot to build new engine. It's an LC9 and I'll be running Summit's forged crank (stock ratio), pistons, rods, and a set of TFS 220 heads. When the new engine goes in I think it makes sense to order a PTC converter from Jon Capizzi and slide that in.
-Eventually buy new rear shocks, double adjustable. won't make a move on this until car has made some passes.

How fast did Capizzi go with the S485 turbo?

Your setup looks like a good combo. That trans/rear end combo sounds stout! How fast do you want to go with it eventually?

He went 7.72@172 with this turbo, 2900 raceweight.

I'll be happy with 8 anything but I'll wait on pushing it harder after the new engine goes in. All forged LC9 + TFS 220 heads. I'd like to go high 7's in the next couple of years.

Quite the list John! It really puts it into perspective when you look back what was done in 1 year. A year ago, I was still working on putting the interior in my Camaro...

Hmm well the motor / trans / turbo kit went in 4/18, and the first drive was 5/20. So two years from roller to driver. I then spent '21 finishing stuff and fixing and finishing stuff. In '21 the car was not reliable at all.
22 the car was very reliable and I drove it all over.

Bump bump.

I need to order new tires, currently has a set of 295/65/15 ET Street Rs. I'm either getting another set of those or a set of 325-50-15s. I have 15x12 wheels.

  • stretched quarters on this pro street dinosaur
  • calm down SLR (2.48 first, 3.50 out back)
  • traction
I was talking to a guy who runs a ladder bar Nova and he said if the distance on the front heim to the ground is ~6 inches they don't get much seperation. I'll measure this, I know that front heim was super lower until I put the 295/65s on there. I could also calculate anti-squat. Ladder bar guys basically suggest I run ~90-100 lb rear spring, long, so that the stored energy helps with seperation.

I think you stick with 295/65/15, 325 wide but way too short!

I had 325/50’s et street R's on my car at beginning of last year. They are 28" tall just like 275 pros, just 1" wider. They also came from Mickey with deformations in the cords, and I did not get to actually use them. The suppliers would not warrantee them.

Thanks for info. My buddy is a M/T dealer and a good friend so I think he will do the right thing. I might even have him mount and balance them if he has the time.

Been traveling a lot for work, but worked on the car today.
-Swapped over to R Rhodes solid core support bushings, I already had his core support
-Adjusted track locater to better center the rear, just made a small adjustment
-Changed the spacers for the rear shocks.
-Nut and bolted the back of the car while I was there. Everything was still fine.

Thanks to y'all who have helped me last couple of years, @3 pedals , Kevin Sensi, Ben Lisca, Jim Norman, Jon Capizzi, Jay Blanchard, Al Seng, Eddie Villadonga, Kadri, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some folks.

Guess I'm finally ready to race.

Been super busy with work, flying out every 2-3 weeks.

But this week I'll re balance the fronts if I can, and then do some test hits by a lot by me (take some video) and make sure everything is working.

Rear is squared up pretty decent now:

I'm always leery about taking video when making hits, not really interested in giving the cops video evidence lol.
I do look forward to seeing it though!
