I dropped the rears by Bob @ RAS. they are 325-50-15 ET Street R. Shorter than what I had most recently, which was 295/65/15. Someone asked me why I did not go 275/60/15 and I said well I'm not gonna try any classes this year, and these wheels are 15x12.

Back on 28s (325-50-15 MT ET Street R):
@vht , general consensus is that drag radials work best with separation. I don't know much much my current combo will separate but the car should work well enough for me to get some decent runs with it.

Update.
Swapped off the jank 295/65/15 ET Street Rs for some 325/50/15 ET Street Rs. They took 5 oz of weight each. My tire guy noticed one flat spot he thought it might clear up with driving and some burnouts.
After swapping them on I had to raise the back of the car, similar to how I had it with the 28 PBRs last year. I also stiffened up the shocks.
Where am I at now... Well I want to clearance the exhaust so I'm pinging Eddie V who has been my fabrication guy (very talent welder and metal work and used to crew for Spiros Pappas years ago). I think that would take not a lot of time. Maybe while the car is there we'll try some transbrake hits over by him.
Pretty much ready to make track passes.
On the list of things I'd like to do to the car:

- The 70-80mph shaking/vibration is much better. One of my front tires, the one on the exhaust side, has some damage (did I share that pic?), and Bob the tire guy said based on the pic I showed him that one would be out of balance. I think I can feel that. I will change the front tires after the pipe is clearanced.
- No scraping now.
- Coolant temps were 189-195 in hot Chicago weather which always impresses me.
- Oil pressure is decent, 27 psi at idle hot, good rise with RPM
- These cars always need a go over here and there, I noticed my gas pedal was not coming to full up, so I went up front and tightened up the throttle wire, pulled it in a little and then tightened the set screw.

On the list of things I'd like to do to the car:
- , I'd like to some day have someone remount the front ladder bar crossmember if I stay ladder bar, moving it up 2 inches into the body would help with clearance and anti-squat.
- I've been talking to Kurt Urban and a guy named Justin Nall (66 Chevelle turbo ls autocross guy) about adding louvers to the hood. Both are fans of the brand Race Louvers in NJ. I'd like to add side vents on each side of the cowl. Hood gets very hot.

Been talking to 2 friends about the exhaust, hopefully one of them can get me in this week. Manna said based on the pics I sent he'd cut and weld a flat section so I can get by this year and get it out.

Didn't take much heat or time and worked like a charm.

Maybe that's how it ends up getting done by a buddy, I could do what you are describing but I'd rather do it in a shop than at my house. I don't want it to look like sh%% is my concern.

Totally get it, ideally, I'd want to cut that area out and turn the piece around to give it a nice, concaved look for clearance.

Buddy #2 said he would get to it this week, and I guess he got busy. But the next time he starts riding my *** for not making track passes I'll point that he did not follow up with me.
Buddy #3 and I texted a little today, I'm to call him Monday. He and wife race, and they have a repair shop and do some perf work. He said he could knock this out. Might be the start of a good new relationship. We've hung out a little at the track but I have not done any work with him before and have not been to his shop before.
Sorry I have not progress on this, wasn't for the lack of trying. I did think about getting a torch and trying to do it myself but I don't want it to look all fugged up.
I'm glad it's raining right now, nobody is doing car stuff today.

A shop in Franklin Park by the airport fixed me up.
This will do for running the car this year. Next year I'll redo the exhaust in a different and better way. I'm not opposed to running it back under the car either.

I'm reg'd for LS Fest which is next weekend.
What I've been doing lately is, I changed plugs, been nut and bolting the car. I need to pull tune and send to my guys to see how much the learn feature is compensating.
