Default What's there to gain?? Turbo swap

Switched from a Turbonetics 7668

And Just pulled the trigger on a
VS Billet 7875 as I think it'll meet all my goals and then Some

Combo is 5.3 SBE Gen 4
Stock heads
BTR Stage 3 cam kit
E85 Blow through carb
Victor Jr

All in a 3000 pound RW mustang with a glide

We're switching turbo and fuel the car has been 9.70 at 140 with the smaller turbo and 93

Seems like you already know what there is to gain. Weird question.

Guess it's dumb of me not to post the goals that's my bad

We're shooting for 750-800rwhp and going 155-160 in the 1/4 obviously weight and mph will tell the story

Was just curious if any track time have been out there for the VS 7875

What fuel are you using? That could be a big game changer. The difference between 93 and E85 is pretty big and the jump to 116 is even bigger. That turbo should pull much harder on the big end sooo there's that? Kind of hard to say. There are so many variables when you change fuel. Could be much more timing or boost and that changes a lot. Best thing you can do is plug it in an online calculator well that's second best the best is to install and take it to the track and be surprised when you hit low 9's

We are going from 93 to E85 as well as the turbo swap

So 93 and 7668 = 9.70 at 140

New combo is E85 and 7875

That turbo should definitely make 800 tire. Not sure if that's enough power to go 160

we ran 9.44 at 140 with the 78/75 at 3550 lbs race weight but it seemed like we were chocking from the small turbine . 5.3 engine and 20 lbs boost.

the switch to e85 should give you a tenth alone with no other changes,

the .96 ar of the 78/75 will be the issue when it max,s out .

hp number aside my guess is you can go 9.0 to 9 teens and 150 or so before it starts just making heat,

that turbo is louder than your turbonetics.

Honestly anything over 150 is fine I'm just being greedy past that

800 wheel if I can get 100 pounds out of the car which I'm sure I can would put me right at 160 but like I said 150-155 is likely way more realistic

That will change up my whole hot side and not wanting to do that right now this will have the same outside construction where it'll be a plug and play. The S480 was deff an option and once the motor pops will likely be what we step up too

Now that we're waiting for it to pop it'll likely last forever LOL

Car is light at 2850 RW I'm only guessing 3k after the whole 8.50 cage goes in and yeah think we're just about at the limits for this thing on that fuel

im probably doing this same swap, from a TC76 to either a VS Billet 7875 or that new Huron Speed Billet 7875.

i also run 93 and my 7668 is maxed out. probably 675 ish rwhp and a little shy of 140 in the quarter

interested in your results.

Out of curiosity if you guys are maxing 7668's it seems like a 7875 while a good increase isn't THAT big of an upgrade. Wouldn't you be better going with a on3 84/75 or a vs88. Shouldn't have to change your piping and leaves a lot more room for growth

For my goals this will more than shatter them imo

Car should pick up 10mph with the fuel change and the Billet 7875
