It depends what other parts are going inside. If it's a low buck build with stock heads then run it. If you are going to put high dollar crank, rods and pistons in or run high dollar aftermarket heads you don't want to take a chance with I would get another block!

Fair argument. Motor is getting a stock crank, budget rods and the typical -11cc wiesco pistons. It's about as budget as it gets for a 1000whp build.

Stock stroke too so the short sleeve shouldn't be an issue and it's almost impossible to sell a sleeved block so you might as well use it.

That sleeve is too short for even a stock stroke. I would junk it.

This is what I'm going to do unless it ends up becoming an issue upon assembly

I wouldn't waste money on a sleeve for a stock iron block. They are a dime a dozen.

I mean if you are hell bent on using it you could bore it .060 over if the walls are solid.

I'm pretty sure it will be fine. IIRC the rings aren't anywhere near the bottom of that sleeve on the stock stroke.

Thats a **** poor sleeve job if I've ever seen one. I could do a better job with a roofing hammer and a half round file.

its not the rings that would concern me, but rather the piston skirt snagging the thrust side of the block when the crank angle is approaching BDC from 90*

it's your block and your call, but for reference: I'm about as cheap as you can possibly get when it comes to machine work and that sleeve gives me pause.

last hole I had sleeved was ~$200 maybe it's less in your area.

anyways, good luck bro.

Garbage, that sleeve is going to rip the skirt off that piston.
