Default NAPA 6637 Air Filter

If you know old PSD, you are familiar with this filter.

Any thoughts on how well it would work on a 7675 turbo?

The filtering quality and efficiency will be second to none

But if all out performance it will be lacking a good bit

That filter is good for around 450cfm at 8" of depression iirc

It definitely won't let that compressor show even close to potential

As the restriction and depression level raises all it is doing is raising the pressure ratio of the compressor

Yea thats kinda what I figured, ah well.

Other option is that filter the cummins boys love so much, but think that will be too low flow as well.

Agree with Rotary about that filter, but there are a bunch of other high flow options out there that mount the same: K&N, UNI, r2c, etc.

Yup

The larger filter you talk about is around 650cfm at 8" IIRC, so yes not stellar

I have a twin turbo Cummins and I ran this larger filter. Quit a bit of depression amas I have the filter minder mounted

So I bought a larger AFE dry flow to try. Very compact for the flow potential

That breathed awesome but was not up to the task of actual filtering on a ride that is on gravel roads and dust. It showed fine dust on the inlet. I drop kicked that thing across the shop lol

I moved back to the bhaf and live with the restriction but get OEM filtering

I now use that old AFE on my car and that will keep up to a gt55 94mm mid upper 20psi and non difference with the filter on or off

Inna street car environment it filters well enough.

I'd never use a AFE, r2c, k&n ect on an harsh particulate environment though

I will see if I can find the pn. They have a ton of different sizes though. Just about anything

R2c has decent selection as well and equivalent of a dry flow

Why the dry filter over afe's pro 5r?

R2C is no longer in business. I had always planned to buy one of their filters eventually but seems like I waited to long.

That AFE is for a 4in inlet?

If that holds up with yoursetup, that sounds like an easy choice for my small T4

Thanks for the advice man

That's a 5" inlet.

They have a ton of different options though. You can get a 4" very similar to that

They are still in business. I'm literally on the phone with them right now ordering a filter.

Not much offered in the 4 inch range, maybe I will just run a reducer and run that 5 inch filter.

Overkill means power, or something.

Yes all time on the car

Boost doesn't budge with it on or off.
