Default Biggest turbo on an On3 kit ??

What is the biggest turbo anyone is running with an On3 kit? I currently have the non AC kit and their billet 84mm turbo. Would like to be able to bolt something on capable of around 1k+ Rwhp. horsepower.

You should be able to do that with what you have. What issues are holding you back?

I don’t think it’s going to make that much. Neither did On3 when I asked them.

the on3 84mm only has a 75mm turbine wheel gonna struggle to make over 800whp, their 88mm would be a much better choice

I’ve read too much about people having problems with their 88mm

That is most likely the largest you can go without modifying components or building custom pieces. Your power is not limited at the compressor wheel size, in this turbo sizing going anything larger than 75-78mm compressor will only hurt you when paired with the 75mm turbine wheel unless your Cubic Inch is very small. You are limited based upon the exhaust wheel size and the downpipe size to this power level. Your next jump up would be to a mid-frame T4 to get a larger exhaust wheel and housing in there to be more efficient. This will require exhaust work to something 3.5"-4", modifications to the cold side to mate up, and possibly others depending on clearances of their kit.
For 1000+rwhp we recommend jumping into a T6 set-up, designed for the power out of the box with many more turbo choices to choose from, and the turbos typically are more affordable as well when comparing similar T4 to T6 S400's!

I messaged Jon about a t6 kit today. I think I’m going to go with it since I already have a billet wheel 76/96 from Forced Inductions. Should do good on a built 5.3 motor.

I did not notice the small turbine wheel before I posted. A 75mm turbine will choke you short of your goals no matter what other fuels I was thinking of running through the intake side. I am so used to big power people on here using Borgs, that I did not even think about some of the setups that are designed with quick spooling in mind.

Save yourself the trouble do not get an 88mm on 3 it's junk mine lasted less than 20 hours of run time and it was not my feed or return my s475 has lived perfectly off the exact same setup that I had the on3 76mm and the on3 88mm both were junk I was on board with them early on and I regret it. I spent the money on a borg Warner and I don't worry about it quitting on me for no reason

haha, we made him a great offer to get into a T6 kit where he could use that big wheel S400 from Jose!
