Default Anyone successfully swapped a T6 turbo onto a Huron V1 T4 kit?

Will be wanting to upgrade my turbo soon to a T6 over a T4 and would really like to be able to just cut the flange off and weld on a T6 flange or use an adapter but not sure if I will have the room and was just wondering if anyone here has gone through this yet?

The room is relative, It will depend on the size of the T6 going on. You can run the adapter as well as cut it off and change it. I have changed his kits several times but we are always dealing with cars that have more relative room that a stock front end.

My car has the stood up radiator and A/C removed but that is about all that has been done to add room. The set up is a 408 with TEA TFS 245s, LJMS cam, LS6 intake, 1700cc ID injectors on E85, th400. Looking to make about 1100ish at the tire. Not sure what size turbo I will need for my goals yet.

You can go with a big frame t4 to make that power. I just used the HSP 88mm big frame t4 and did 1018whp through an 8 speed auto and still had room to go. You will start to run out of exhaust housing a little more quickly with the 408 but Ill bet you can still get there. I would talk to Jon at HSP about it.

What T6 is closest in size to a mid frame T4.....but will produce more HP to make it worth it with the T4-to-T6 adapter flange?

I've spoken with a few people who have used the adapter and put a T6 on and they said everything worked 100% perfectly and they made a ton more power, but like necrocannibal said, we don't have a lot of room up there. What smaller T6 turbo would easily make 1,200-1,300 RWHP but still fit up front with the Huron Speed single turbo kit...?

Like what smaller T6 would make a good amount more HP than the T4 S484 with Race Cover....?

That is what I am worried about having the 408, that is why I want to go to a T6 but to use their kit there was a lot of stuff that had to be moved or taken off like power steering and ABS and I would rather not do that if I can use an adapter or weld on a new flange and have it reach my goals.

I strongly recommend contacting Jon at HSP for those questions. I call him when I need to spec one and he does all of our turn keys. I would have to go back and look at my PO to see exactly what we did on the vette but we had physical size restraints in the front of the car and it was the only way we could get it crammed in there.

I just replaced a v1 kit with a t6 88mm. No way a flange only swap is gonna work IMO. Hotside needs to be remade.

That really isn't what I want to hear. How much stuff did you have to move or take off to make the T6 kit fit?

Lol, most hang a t4 off the manifolds. You arent gonna get away with that with a t6 due to extra weight and the size forces it further way.

my old t4 setup with a vertical radiator

Same with a tubular front end

t6 with frame brace

Jon's comments are don't do it and it will void the warranty.

But the question is: Will it work putting a T4-to-T6 adapter flange on the T4 kit.....and using a T6 turbo. Assuming it will fit in between the engine and radiator.

Will it flow normally?
Will it produce more power than the T4 turbo?
Will everything be just fine?

Its YES or NO.

This is kind of what I want to know, if it will fit will it work? I'll deal with the other BS if it will work.

I've talked with other people that said it works 100% perfectly. I was highly advised to get the adapter and use it on the Huron Speed V2 A/C single turbo kit I have. I was told it will make a ton more power and everything will be perfection. Only recommendation is, maybe use dual BOV's instead of just one. But I have an automatic so one should be perfect.

I since have committed to going Harrop 2650 SC'er and already purchased all ZL1 Camaro accessories and the Supercharger. But if I don't make at least 1,100 RWHP/////I'll try the turbo kit maybe later if I don't end up selling it.

I was told to simply fit up the hot side and get the turbo I want to use....then see how/where the T4 flange should be cut off. Then simply weld a T6 flange on at whatever angle and extra spacing I need to make it clear everything. I could extend it forward, up, down, sideways.....anything I want. If your T6 turbo of choice fits....just bolt up the flange and you're done......

The piping is all the same size as the T6 kit....so why wouldn't it work 100% perfectly.......right?

Just think....a little T6 will make so much more power than a big *** T4...and it will make it a lot easier too.......so its not like you need to go with a HUGE T6.........

And I'm by far a boost expert......but I have talked to the best in the business to get answers to my questions......

That's what I was hoping. If my T4 doesn't run what I want I'm switching over to a T6 with an adapter.

I'm waiting on a th400 swap in mine before I'll do anything turbo related. I really thought it would have been done before though.
