Add some preload to it by shortening the arm.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. Mine leak little puffs at idle and now have a slight rattle. If I grab the arm and pull it tighter they seal off, but no adjustments made corrected it.

You need to get old valves after they grow up they quiet down a lot. Its all the youngins full of clicks and clacks you need to run the **** out of them for ten years until they grow up and quiet down

This is why gm used vacuum closed valves on vettes and camaro. They always have pull on them.

I've been thinking about this, because a solution is sorely needed. In 1969 GM added a coil spring to the truck area of the Camaros to cut down on rattling so im thinking if we added a well aged vacuum spring bolt on the rear of each head like a knock sensor type deal, that ought to absorb the loud valves.

Was just looking at my normally closed valves last night. Yours don’t have an adjustment on them? They should already be pre-spring loaded closed with the spring in the diaphragm. Should just be able to tighten up that adjustment? I dunno mine were $60 straight from china and I skipped the middle man. Maybe yours don’t have the adjustable rod end?

How quickly do yours close on start up? Need to be able to sneak out of the garage in the a.m. to head to work.

Wasn’t fast enough! I run a little $2 12v vac motor on it now. Let it run for 30 sec or so before starting so I don’t wake the baby.

yeah I adjusted the hell out of mine. Actually broke the first one---couldnt get a replacement diaphragm---and bought one from ali express. It was the exact same unit lol I bet i could fingerprint them both and come up with the same 12 year chinese girl

It just rattles badly at idle, i'd adjust it and it'd be fine for a few days and begin to rattle again. My guess is the preload spring gets hot and looses uh, springyness

Added a random spring from a carburetor spring kit and it's enough I don't hear it so I'm cool.

That is a neat fix you came up with tho.
