Default Thoughts on this Billet intake...

What are you guys Thoughts on this Billet intake? Just curious on how it would perform or what peak RPM range you could expect with it, considering the short plenum size with the long runners. ThrottleBody is 135mm..
would this be more suited for torque? And a sub 7500rpm setup. It would be going on a 427”..

In what world does an LS engine need a 135mm throttle body? Even with a 427 the off idle throttle response would be extremely twitchy. I can only see that working with a high stalled slushbox.

Dual rails, short runners and 135mm TB for 7500 rpm - right. If your whole purpose is to look cool at a car show - go for it - because otherwise this makes no sense.

it looks like it took about 500 hours on a 5 axis. so it probably costs as much as my house.

Honestly just curious about it. I’m talking on a 1700rwhp+ setup. Just was curious about what the intended RPM range would potentially be just by judging off of the characteristics of the intake in the pics

yeah kinda short runners. my guess is (like others said) is a show piece. nothing wrong with that. I would like to be the guy who got paid to make it!

I'm curious though. injectors these days can support 2000 hp on low energy fuels, why the dual rails? dual fuel like pump in one system and race gas in another?

yeah dual fuels. I could serve both purposes though because I know for a fact just a pretty Billet Visner Engine Development LID on a stock unported Highram netted a 60hp gain. Just from a lid.

Honestly the runners dont look shorter then my high ram. They are just recessed in the plenum a ways. Id guess it would be close to a high ram rpm wise. The plenum has about the same volume or maybe less. because they kept it short with the arcs machined into the lid. It would be nice to see the inside of the lid.

i like the dual injector idea personally. Im going to use it on my car. Small injectors to work with the stock chevrolet pcm and 210s in the secondary rails to add fuel for boost above the amount the small injectors can feed and then to feed for boost over the 21 psi limit my gm ecm has.

Yeah that’s why I’m curious because no plenum volume really wasn’t sacrificed because the belly is pretty deep. Wish I had gotten a better pic. The runners are about the same length as a Highram forsure. Low mounted throttle body. The runner length is 6.5”

Honestly to me it looks like a high ram with a dropped roof and floor. Maybe a little bit of lose for the extra turns and bends to get the air to the runner but not as many as a stock runner by a whole lot. Looks pretty damn good to me.

I honestly can't buy into the whole billet intake thing. Even when I was doing magazine work, the only gains they showed were in the price.
