Very nice looking welds. I bought an Eastwood TIG, first attempts were laughable. Sticking with MIG for now!

Car is coming out great Kenny! I hear you about the cage, I am in the same boat. I never wanted more than an 8.50 cage in my "street car" but these damn cars are going so fast these days it was upgrade or slow down and you KNOW there is no way we are going to slow down.

What upgrades were done to the LSNext block? 1/2" head studs? 1/2 main studs? what lifters/crank/rods?

THis has been quite a progression!

When I finish the rest of the car Im pulling everything out. Sanding, filling all of the holes and painting the bay. So it wasnt on my list of priorities at the moment.

It sucks. I put 6-6,200 miles on it in 2017.
Only drove it 1,200 or so miles last year. I bought a new denali so it was nicer jumping in that to head to the store.
Street racing is completely dead in my area so that blows. Other than a few actual no prep street/airstrip races.
Its primarily track now.

I am still going to keep my factory dash and panels. I finally bought a dash cap for it when the guy was going to buy it @Ratical
I just have to weld some brackets on for the dash. Almost all of the factory tabs are broken off from coming down hard on wheelies.

That's good you are keeping it in there, I personally like the looks of a factory dash and door panels in a street car. At least the dashes in the newer cars bolt in, it makes it much easier to get behind it to make bars and weld but those plastic tabs don't hold up too well to stress!

4.50's if Im not a complete idiot.
4.4's if I get to a nice event and do work.
I have no doubts I can get it o run 159/160 in the 1/8th

I did 153mph before. There are guys going 4.5/4.6 with that power.
It just happened to be the first day I put the front shocks on. Last track day of the year. 55 degrees out. test and tune following jeeps and stuff.

Ill get it there this year. I have too much money into it to just play with it now.

yea I was hoping to sell it and pick up a really nice 25.3 chassis to put a drivetrain in. But the more I thought about it, if I started over id lose my *** on it. I was asking $45 for it which is a lot of money. By the time I bought a 25.3 chassis for $20 g's. Id have had 60-70k into it.

This way I sold a bunch of old stuff and only had to throw 7-8k on top of what I made back on it.

You and Jon should plan on Muncie May 17-18. The prep will be there. Radial TNT Friday and the event Sat. free camping at the track too.

Thats sounds like a good plan to me!

Im going to have it ready for spring. Ill do some 60/330 testing until it gets where it should be. Then Im going to lay into it.

Awesome! You've done a great job with the car and I'd love to see it in person. Hopefully you can show up and run a number plus meet a lot of good people.

Sounds like a plan to me. Ill get a good couple test days at mid michigan before then. I have two street no prep races right in the spring that arent important. so ill get the tuning portion sorted out there.

going to mechanical fuel pump and the bigger turbo is going to be a start from scratch.
