Turbo noob needs a little help
CX Racing turbos
- .70 A/R Compressor
- .63 A/R Turbine
- 61.3 /82 mm Compressor Wheel
- 62 /67.8 mm Turbine Wheel
Would these work for a twin set up on a 5.3? Shooting for 700hp and fast spool.
Engine specs:
2005 Tahoe 5.3 iron block LS
Block honed by shop, new cam bearings, new stock pistons, new stock rods, rings gapped for boost.
799 heads, decked to ensure they are flat, valve job, BTR springs and push rods
BTR stage 2 twin turbo cam
LS6 intake with cable throttle body
Holley 534-209 Fuel rails with Ford M-9535-LU80 80lb injectors
Delphi/GM 3 bar map sensor
HP Tuners with Innovate LC2 widebands in each bank.
Thank you for the reply.
Forgive my ignorance, I really don't know what the specs MEAN. People always ask what size of turbos I am running. Can you please tell me what size they are based on the above posted information?
You can have the same A/R in two different housings with one being 3 times the size of the other.
The mm measurements are for the wheels. Inducer/exducer. Basically the small and large diameters of the wheels.
Look at a compressor wheel, the top edge of the wheel is the inducer diameter, the bottom end larger diameter is the exducer.
Most turbo sizes are rated by the smaller diameters, which are the compressor inducer and the turbine exducer.
Like svslow said, those are just generic GT35 clones. You can get the exact same turbo from any other seller on ebay at half to a third the price of CXRacing.
CX just rebrands them and doubles the cost. You're not getting anything better.
