block off the back two. just use the fronts. FF86 could tell you why....has to do with water speed though the vents and steam bubble scouring or something technical.

plus i sold all my early truck 4 corner vent tube stash so I got no more skin in the game

You'll get varying opinions on this topic, some guys plug them, some guys vent the front and others vent all four.
I vented all four with a factory steam pipe because I assumed over venting would preferable to under venting.

I prefer to vent all 4 so coolant circulates from the back ports instead of being blocked.

Run all 4, unless your motor is at an angle where steam/air could never gather at one end.

I run all four. For all of the reasons listed above. If Mr Goodwrench thought his engines need four steam vents then that is plenty good enough for me.

I run the factory 4 corner spider. It returns to the radiator.

That said, GM plugged off the rears in the later years. So they must know something.....and of course it saved them money.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other right?

When I fill the system I crack all four loose and tighten when coolant gets to each. No air pockets this way.

Nope....a single static bleed at idle or whatever, is just that. It doesnt then account for bleeding should air enter the system...steam...whatever during use, when driving, at high rpm, at high boost etc. Which under heavy use and load...is very likely to happen.
Whereas all 4 will continually self bleed 100% of the time to ensure no air can ever accumulate in the system in the head areas without requiring manual intervention.

This was my thought as well, while when in the N/A factory configuration I'm sure two or even none can be acceptable.
I'd imagine that when you start drastically increasing horsepower, heat comes with it and the steam vents become more important.
