It seems to really like timing. but i dont want to put too much more in it with the stock ring gap. Also the meth injection worked flawlessly. Dropped temps to 100 degrees.

Weather sucked. It was hot and raining. Probably could have made a little more power if i turned it out further.
I would have thought that the boost would come in quicker and make more torque down low. Were you controlling the boost ramp?

according to my data log it is at full boost at 4500rpms on the dyno but the torque coverter isnt done until 5400rpms which is what you are seeing with that gradual slope on the dyno

also i was rolling into the throttle to prevent tire spin. with this high stall converter it wants to spin on the dyno when you punch it.

Some updates. I haven't had much time since the summer to work on the car. Ive been busy with other projects. I have been driving it around occasionally but havent made it to the track.

Since then I have purchased a 3:31 rear gear. BC the 3:73 i just too much.

Im hopefully gonna get it back on the dyno next week. Im gonna push it to 600ish i think.

Quick question, what’s the rear end setup in the car? I think you should take it to an auto x event and see if you can’t mess with some people. Short wheel base and plenty of power is a fun combo!

I'm enjoying this build. I'm actually running the same turbo setup (gt4294r + 5.3). Like you, I'm using it because I had it.. but I want to push it to it's limits. Nice to see it spools quickly and makes good power.

Yeah i am looking forward to pushing it a little more. I am trying to figure out ways to make more power without upping the boost. Trying to keep the iat down due to lack of intercooler. I am thinkng about adding a set of heads? I made 40whp putting texas speed ported heads on N/A 5.3 a few years back. I would imagine they would make more power with boost? Im really only trying to make 600 hp . But im not trying to destroy my gen 3 rods.

I am also looking forward to seeing what your ends up making.

What did you have to do to make that work? Full frame?

Have you thought about pre turbo meth injection? Should really help reduce IATs and add a little octane to the mix. Be interesting to see what just adding meth (not tuning for it) would do in terms of power.

heads will definitely help!

Nice build, What year is your focus. You might want to extend your exhaust tip past your front tire if your putting out flames likes that going down the road. Cool build.

Due to covid and work I put the car on hold 18months ago, I also picked up a c4 corvette and I am in the process of turning it into a track car with an ls3 swap. Now I am motivated to get this focus back on the road.

Of corse the Lithium Ion battery in the car is completely toast. Not super happy about that.

Im gonna change all the fluids and put some new e85 in it a get it back on the dyno in the next few weeks.

I have meth injection on the car now and I want to see how that works.

Gen III rods will go well past 600hp without issue.
Turn it up.

Cool build, that light of a car gotta be a blast. I just added a meth kit, no IC'er, we ended up going pre turbo, using 93 octane was able to get the iat's down in the 110, 120 range on a safe tune. Wish E85 was avail around here. Since I have an LS6 intake, figured pre turbo was better, since more of a hot air manifold.

I would love to see pictures of how you did things. I don't want to hijack this thread, so maybe PM me?
