starting a 6.0 swap..should i go forged or stay stock..? shootin for 650 to the tire
ok guys i picked up a good LQ4 with 112k miles on the clock. ive heard about alot of stockers surviving lately but i really would like some reliability out of this motor.. the plan so far is sloppy stg 2 cam..pac 1218 springs.. 7875 billet turbo. decap 80s on E85. should i really spend the money on forged rods and pistons.?? is there anything else i should do..or even a better combo to make 650 tire..? any input is greatly appreciated..!!!

You probably don't NEED forged rods/pistons for that level, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
The forged rods/pistons will give you some room to grow, too.

another question if u dont mind..so providing i just put it in and run it with stock bottom end..would it be necessary or even worthwhile to regap the rings.?? will be on e85 as there are plenty of gas station around here that sell it

im doing a 5.3 with a cast 7875 on e85 with 1500cc injectors. now i didnt gap the rings because i heard if you run e its less chances but then again it also depends on your tuner! but if your have the engine out might as well. my next junkyard engine i will be gapping the ring for added insurance. now again, if you gap too big you will blow white smoke

Youd have to do retarded big gaps to get what I would call excessive blow by. Like 26-28 thou and send it.
