Ddnspider's- Project Wrong-Way- Rear Mount Turbo Thread
.I know some wastegates have several holes in the housing also, so make sure all of them are plugged except one on the top side of the diaphragm for a vent, all others plugged except the one below the diaphragm with the boost signal coming to it.
that thing should be making some noise and spooling up nicely!

Pressure tested the exhaust and found several leaks. I had that small dynomax bullet in there that's got a pretty good leak. Think I'm going to chuck it and just replace with a pipe. I checked the fire ring as mentioned. I yanked the line on the WG altogether to see if it made ANY boost and it didn't so routing on the WG line didn't matter. Going to sort the exhaust leaks first and revisit.

I ran the fuel lines on my car yesterday, I got a itch
We have BOOST! We fixed a ton of exhaust leaks and cut out the bullet in the I pipe. 1 of the O2 bungs in the Walker cat delete kit had a big gap in it. I have no idea how much boost it's making and didn't have my laptop but it was enough that the 1-2 put the car skating down the road on my 315s. Back in business! Hopefully some logs next week and guessing it's the to swap in the Walbro 450 and take out the 255.

Yeah the exhaust was just too loud for me to really hear it. When I put the compressor in the muffler and felt the whole exhaust and hot side for air, that was my clue. Found a couple spots like the pass O2 bung that I wouldn't have even guessed. So much easier for stuff like this when you get the car on the lift instead of crawling around on the floor lol. Just glad I'm making progress again. And with no turbo under the hood the car was sitting at ~180* with the AC running in FL stop and go traffic.
Glad you figured it out. Down here in the south in the heat, since I put a better radiator in it I rarely see over 200. 195 is normal now. I wrapped the crossover so it’s probably lower now but I haven’t checked. It’ll get even lower when I wrap the log manifold.
and your a brave soul smashing it with no data on it!

I knew it had a fat enough tune to give it a quick 1-2 without worrying. In a 6 speed car there isn't much load so not much boost, especially spinning. It was just a sanity test.....either it would hook and make zero boost still or light it up and I know we fixed it.... Mission accomplished
We're at 10 psi in 4th on the 7665 and its time to upgrade based on the log. Maxing the MAF frequency as well as the PCM's lb/min limit at ~5500 rpms.
Also fuel pressure is dropping to ~3 bar. Walbro 450 going in and the car is getting the LS7 MAF treatment in a 4 inch tube.
I also believe that the muffler I picked is pretty restrictive (Dynomax super turbo) so I'm going to get under the car and see if I can add my cutout, this time in the downpipe pre-muffler. Should be pretty slick for a rear mount setup to have a nice quiet muffler setup AND an electric cutout all in a tight package. It's been nice driving the car and having it quiet at cruise, but I want the power too.
