Default new nova build thread.

well due to selling my blue nova last week I looked around and found a unfinished project nova. car is a good soild car with a wrap on it. has a new 9" axle , 3.25 gears, yukon locker 35 spline axles, calvert 9 way shocks, calvert split mono's and caltracks, going to try and pickup where I left off with the blue car. blue car ran 9.01 at 150 mph last time out at 3510 lbs. new car came with a lq9 engine. car is wrapped right now but I will paint it this winter.

stock lq9 sbe with rings gapped.
ls9 gaskets, arp studs.
btr valvetrain with stage 2 cam
823 ls3 heads , sheet metal intake
engine is ready to go.

planning on e85 fuel with 210 injectors, and I own a ms3 gold box already.
twin aem 380 pumps.

going to run 400 th with brake.

the plan right now is a s480 t6 turbo and let it eat. car should be a good 150 lbs lighter than the blue car. here are a few pics.

Looks like a lot of stuff already in place, cool find. One thing I have learned, check ALL bolts
for tightness, lol. You dont know if the prev. owner just finger tightened it.

My current car I purchased already had 5.3 installed with turbo kit. I got it started and was pissing oil everywhere. I ended up finding all the fuel line and oil lines loose. I only ran motor for 10seconds so who know what else isn’t tight lol

If it doesn’t, go after some DA shocks. I’ve got Viking DA warriors on my Nova (mounted in front of the rearend) and just went 1.5 sixty foot on Nitto 555s this weekend. I guarantee it would’ve taken more, but I ran out of passes to try stuff. This is with Landrum monoleafs also. I also run travel sensors so I see exactly what’s going on.

yes. I had it to a point to where it needed torn down and quite a few upgrades. and rather than that I sold it . and started over. seems drastic but doing all the work myself I will finish this car with upgrades and bank some cash in the end.

What are you using for your hot and cold side? Do you know which kits fit or do you do custom? Would love to see pics of piping and routing. I have a white 70 bbc that I am about to 5.3 boost. Following!

210's are most likely what i'll run. for trans I found a 400th work's and drives pretty well with a 3.25 gear with the right converter. bullet proof. is what I want. I drive my cars to work when the weather is good and a couple cruse night's and track trips. not a lot but must be streetable.
