Default Flipped manifolds and plug wires

Sorry to beat this subject up as I’m sure you regulars hear it all the time. However I’ve searched through many posts. Always bring up old post from years ago. Anyways to the point.

i have truck manifolds up and forward facing. I’m not trying to have my wires burn up. So is there any better options that are proven and doesn’t cost $100 for a long uncut set?

I cannot move my coilpacks from valve covers cause I have don’t have much engine space. Also downpipes from turbos run by motor mounts so coil packs are stuck on the valve covers. Just easier with them there. Since the picture taken, the turbo kit has been heat wrapped completely.

I'm not sure how you can avoid longer plug wires, The stock ones will obviously come up short and with boost you'll want a good set of wires because it's harder to fire a plug under boost and cheap wires will be the weak link. If that were mine I would figure out a way to mount them on the side of the strut tower.

Wrong. Cheap autozone wires here, stock coils, 20psi.... fires just fine.

i dont, sorry. sold the truck. I have also put them under the manifold next to the engine mount and used stock plug wires. cant find any pics of that either lol. but then you have to extend the coil harness and thats kind of a hassle

Do you have pic? Or were you saying that cheap wires work with boost?

Use the 90's LT1 camaro wire set. Cheap auto zone set is fine. They are plenty long for most and they have the correct boots. They are plug and play. Also a neat trick is to wrap them with a metal hangar in them adn electrical tape. You can shape them however you need.

Personally I'd move the coils under those manifolds and extend the coil pack harness.

I ran pepboys lt1 stock replacment wires on my turbo ls3 coil relocation for a long time. Coils where stacked behind the heads. I bought msd custom fit wires eventually. Really couldnt tell a difference at 700rwhp between the two. Didnt seem to run better but they did fit a lot better. A couple of the stock replacment wires where too long so i had em looped and even though no one else could see it, it bothered me to know it was there.

Cheap price and good quality are rarely one and the same so you must have found some that are both. I've ohm tested many brand new wires that were worse than what were already on the car and I diagnosed quite a few misfire issues due to people buying crap plug wires.

I would be genuinely interested in what criteria you used to determine what ohm a plug wire should be. The Ford model T uninsulated copper plug wires are extremely low ohm, but have zero EMF shielding.

I have these. They’re good quality and snap on the plugs well.

The msd ones were only like $90 so not much more money. I’ll just get the msd ones I guess... I’ve spent so much more money on these little things than I feel necessary lol. Fittings, hose, ties, more fittings. I had the motor running already for the $5k and now I’m at about $8k and still buying small stuff like this. I’m super close and the money went into custom hotside, twins instead of the single before etc. just more than I thought it would’ve needed.
