Whacshack had a nasty turbo mustang on his website. He's got a Colorado now and thats what he put it in. He just did a retune on it on a recent video. Stock pulley really low boost on 87 and e85 and it made really low power I was actually surprised. He swears something is wrong with his motor but who really knows. You'll have to check out the video. I was bummed he took the G apart too. That was a really fun little car I looked into grabbing that chassis before I ended up with my new project.
On a side note just to touch base on these costs "nowadays" this is still a really viable option for good power. Covid-19 has really messed up parts availability for some of this stuff but that's the case for a lot of other options. There are a lot of these used out there and they're still holding around $1500 - $1700. I guess the lids are tough to get so anyone that has one has jacked the cost up but with some research I still think this can be done at a reasonable cost. I was hopeful for the adapter someone made for the STS-V supercharger to the LS platform but once someone saw the cash potential those things shot way up in cost making it not worth it in my opinion. $1400 for the adapter and $1200 - $1400 for the supercharger. No thank you. So for what these are I still say they are a great deal if they're done smart.
Now if you can only find a hood for that thing!
I just went back through my youtube and I had watched the whackshak Colorado video from a month ago. Ha! Neat to see that was your old setup.
A year ago I spent almost as much for my new ZL1 lid as I did for the blower. Like I said in the OP I only was willing to dabble in the LSA world if the right deal fell in my lap and it did as far as the actual blower was concerned.
If I were to ever part it out I'm fairly confident I could fetch upwards of 3k for the blower, lid, billet rails, and modified snout.
I will be working on a hood for it this winter. JD Corvette ultra high rise is the direction I am heading at this time.
Somehow with some carefully planned out blind luck I was able to get a hood to fit over this blower. It's a little on the mullet wearing side of things but I really don't really get a choice in the matter as far as hoods go.

That hood looks great with the car and is pretty unsuspecting. I feel like I see a lot of guys with similar hoods, but most don't have an LSA under them! I'm surprised that you could fit it under the hood to be honest. Keep us posted! I found this thread last year when I started planning my LSA build and used a lot of your ideas.
Yeah the prices have gotten out of control. Especially if you want a ZL1 lid.

Yeah the prices of all this stuff has just gone bonkers. I bought a ZL1 lid last year when I was laid up and paid $750 for it and I was so angry at myself. Apparently not that bad for the convenience of actually being able to get one haha. I never even used it, its just sitting in the basement waiting for a new project. Hopefully I can put it to good use soon. I'm loving the car though. Get that clutch done so you can give it a good tune/thrashing. While you're at it you might want to pick up another motor just in case the inevitable happens!
Well the clutch will not hold any real power third gear or above. I got a great sale deal from Tick on a Monster Twin Disc that was too good to pass up. 950 shipped.
That should cure any slippage problems from here on out.
Nice job! I like your lift. Looks like you had to first jack the car up, set it on jackstands, then add the blocks?

Yeah it's a bit of a chore but basically lift the car up a foot with the quickjacks and then set the car down on jackstands then I put in the 4 pieces of 4x4 and the tall quickjack blocks and then run it up all the way before setting the locking bars. Gets you a little extra height. It looks kinda sketchy but it's actually very stable.
I'll let you know when it's done.
P.S. I'll send an email later with some further questions on running a LS3 MAF.
