1969 Chevelle Supercharged safe without a intercooler?
Hello all! Im new to the boost world as this is my first ever boosted vehicle. Im currently in a dilemma as to where to mount a intercooler for said supercharger as there isnt much room besides between the grille and core support. The only problem with that is that i would have to do some cutting and have to remove the hood latch mechanism, which this isnt a big deal and i have no problem doing it but i would like to come up with a nicer/ cleaner way to install a intercooler and route the plumbing properly. So my question is, for the time being can i safely and without damaging anything run methanol injection instead of a intercooler until i get a proper intercooler setup. The engine is bone stock besides some headers, I have attached some pictures if maybe anyone has suggestions but all is welcome. Thank you
You have a crazy amount of room for an intercooler ...... a/a or even under the hood a/w. Here is my '69 Chevelle. I have a stock alum 5.3 with turbo and a/w intercooler with a/c compressor under it. On the driver side is a vacuum pump driven off of the alternator.
I built a 69 chevelle with an air to air behind the grill, an kept the hood latch-I had to cut out part of the latch brace, and reinforce it. I used the Procharger setup for like a 2000-2004 corvette with 8 rib conversion, and back then I ran a blowthru carb. I may have some pics somewhere.
