Default New build for 2021

Well after running and building nova’s for the last 7-8 years I have changed directions. Sold my grey nova to my brother. So here is my new build I have a 2008 aluminum 5.3 with rings gapped ls9 gaskets , 799 heads Jarrett 216/222 cam building a devided 2. 1/4 hot side , 400 th with brake , ptc 15-0 9.5 converter and 3.42 gear built axle . Will be on e85 . Car is a nice solid 63k mile car and has been raced in the Chicago area years past . Anyone ever run a Weldon 2025 one came in the car thanks in advance

Always loved that body style, had a bunch of G bodies, just never one of those. Is it mini tubbed? Looks like some tire under it.

yes it has a frame notch so it will hold about an inch wider tire. im going to put billet specialties on it 10" with a 275 pro. so i should have no rubbing issues.

Very good looking GN. I always love the grand national and wanted one but have never found one to play with.

Very cool. Love those cars.
Be curious what it weighs? Could be lighter than the Nova’s.

That Weldon pump looks decent. Certainly high quality. A good place to start at the least.

So, we calling you GN Mike now?

Haha. Not sure but I think it is pretty light has fiberglass bumpers and brackets . I think I’m going to run the Weldon pump as a second pump and turn it on at low boost. Not sure yet . Weldon says run it if I’m only running an hour or so at a time

Got the long block back together. Stock bottom end rings gapped at .026 top .030 second. Ls9 gaskets and GM Performance parts bolts’ jfr. 216/222 cam and btr valve train . Going to run a tbss intake and my Bosch 210 injectors . Ready to go in but I’m waiting on a converter swap . Going to try a ptc 9.5. 17-0 converter.

Almost my exact combo. Converters gonna be close. I went from a 15-0 to a 17-0 and it was WAY better. Shift recovery at about 5500 on 20psi with a 3.31 gear
