Default Squarebody long bed 10.8sec on 90 octane

Two summer of tuning and I finally did it, 10.8sec@124mph.
Stock chassis
Stock suspension, (added 1 ton front sway bar)
ford 8.8, (3.73)
TH400, 3400stall
5.3L factory bottom, never disassembled
Factory ECM
summit stage 3 turbo cam
80lb deka's, walbro 400lph with 17.5v boost a pump, 6an feed line, 83psi fuel pressure at 26psi of boost.
VSR 83x75, cortex boost controller
3" intercooler A2A
$280 ebay hotside
Water/meth with two 10GPH nozzles
Full 4" exhaust with dead quite dynomax chambered muffler +28" resonator (quiet as stock truck, minus the whistle)
Still got the camper bumper and the ball hitches.

26psi of boost on 90octane pump, 11* of timing
Ran on M/T Street E/T SS 30X12.5r15 radials.
4 figure budget.

Super Sleeper.

Man, that's pretty amazing, it has to weigh over 2 tons, I know my 86 did.
Good job, what were your IAT's at that boost level.

Congrats on getting into the 10's! We enjoy seeing customers achieving goals with their builds. Thanks for the patronage with the purchase of our Pro LS Stage 3 Turbo cam SUM-8716R1.

That is a sleeper. Looks and sounds like grandpa's old C10 until you light it off! If you have any videos of it on the track share them up. The community would surely enjoy them!

140* leaving the line, 104*@60mph and 118* at the end.

Yep, the only things I changed as far as suspension and chassis goes was I added a front sway bar from a 1ton 2wd c-30 and I changed the factory steering shaft from the rag joint to a Jeep one with a real U-joint and cut one coil off the front springs to lower it. The back axle is just flipped to the top of the springs. No traction bars.

I never did run into any traction issues.

I think there is a video of it running an 11.4 at a RaceWars street car event from this year but I don't have one of the 10.8 run.

That timing from 3kRPM@100kp to the last line of the table at 4400RPM is where I found what I needed to get past 11.

That's cool, I just did an axle flip on mine while I'm waiting on coil overs but I just assumed it would wheel hop like a mother. Whats your weight? My 86 short box with an ls swap scaled at 3600lb exactly with two full tanks.

I don't, I should get a shipping weight ticket from the landfill scales this week and actually see. When I added it up on paper from the listed curb weight I got around 3900. I'm guessing is about the same as you.

Almost the same , no surprise there- probably due mostly to the 80e . Managed to run an 11.07 @ 122 on fri night which is the new best. Definitely a 10 possible, if I get everything right . I think but not sure the DA was over 3000 ft which required a bit of playing with the duty cycle on the tru boost to get the boost up , spun a couple runs and out of time . Picked up about 3/10s leaning from 11.0 to 11.5 -11.6 that's on 15lbs/ 13° tune is only 2 bar . Pretty happy with that as the goal was only to get into the 11s with 11.5 the limit because of no cage . This is a 99% street truck that i hauled home a +1000lb scissor lift in the day before, and did the 225 mile round trip to the track with mine and my buddy's gear in the back. also a sleeper and a very small budget. I'll have some more fun playing with the launch and I'm sure there's a 10 in there as it sits. Looking forward to see what you do next

I have a '68 stepside short bed in the garage right now with a gen4 6.0 sitting next to it. I still need to get the body panels replaced, which are also sitting there next to it. Then decide on a transmission and what I'm going to do for front and rear suspension/brakes.

What's the plan for that one ? Faster with cage or more street friendly? Or both Lol

It's hard to get more street friendly than the square-body honestly.I might stick a cage in it, but not a racing cage, something just to increase the the crash viability for the road.

I'm up in the air with it still. I know I'll put as much or more power in it. I want some handling this time though.

I've looked at sticking an IRS from a 2020 mustang under it and going to a new front suspension with rack and pinion.

Something old that hangs with expensive new stuff.
