I’m in the same boat. Even finding a machine shop that will competently machine your fancy new parts is a massive undertaking. It can take months and months… and then break instantly. OR not be done correctly. A 2500-3000lb door car can run 5’s or 7s all year with a properly done 5.3 and a big turbo. Lighter you go longer your parts last. Not many need more than that.

My job requires extreme amounts of over time. I am a procharger guy and the direction I may go would require a good crank. I wouldn't completely rule out a turbo, but I definitely prefer procharger. I would buy a short block from a reputable builder and take it from there. Just gathering info now. I understand the other aspects of racing as far as safety rules etc. I've just never had that amount of power personally. I know people in the 1700+ and even 3000 capable range, but they aren't LS or specific to what I'm looking to do. So I do have experience seeing what it takes to build that level of car. I'm not looking to compete with small tire heads up cars or no prep cars...I'm looking to go faster than I've ever personally been. Nothing really more or less than that. A mid 5 second car in the 1/8th or 8.5 quarter would be all the faster I would ever try to go while being "streetable", but not what I normally would consider a street car or daily driver.

Wow...I wouldn't think an oem aluminum block with no fill would handle that power level. I'm eager to see it and have you prove me wrong though. I can see that what you've already done gives you confidence and is impressive, but 16-1700 wowza!

lol we’ll see how far it goes I’ll start off around 1300 and work up from there I know at some point it’ll give up but if I can get a season or 2 out of it I’ll be happy
